?Chapter 383: Chapter 384 Preparation (2)_1 Chapter 383: Chapter 384 Preparation (2)_1 Yet, Jing Haohao sat contentedly in her dining chair like nothing had happened, calmly and leisurely eating her breakfast.

She seemed to notice Liang Chen constantly watching her. Lifting her eyelids, she glanced at him. There was a layer of confusion in her eyes as she asked, “What’s the matter?”

Liang Chen was only more bewildered. He paused for a moment before shaking his head, “Nothing.”

Jing Haohao pressed her lips together, continuing to eat her breakfast. When her porridge bowl was almost empty, Jing Haohao turned to Nanny Lin beside her, “Could you serve me another bowl of porridge, please?”

Liang Chen was taken aback. During her stay at the villa, Jing Haohao usually had little appetite and didn’t eat much. Why was it that today she seemed to have a voracious appetite?

Could it be, she was turning her sadness into an appetite?

Liang Chen watched as Jing Haohao, who was deeply focused on her second bowl of porridge, couldn’t help but speak up, “Haohao?”

“Hmm?” Jing Haohao, spoon in mouth, lifted her head to look at him.

Her eyes were crystal clear, free of any impurities, shining brightly with no traces of sadness.

Everyone says that one’s eyes cannot deceive.

There was no sadness in her eyes, perhaps there was no sadness in her heart either.

Still, Liang Chen ventured to ask, “Are you.. okay?”

He asked hesitantly, as if afraid that he might accidentally reopen Jing Haohao’s wounds.

Upon hearing his question, Jing Haohao’s expression faltered slightly, before she pressed her lips together into a small smile. “I’m fine.”

Then, she lowered her head, continuing to eat her porridge.

Watching Jing Haohao, who remained unchanging and devoted to her porridge, Liang Chen lowered his head and began eating his breakfast. In between mouthfuls, Liang Chen looked up again, saying, “Don’t be too upset… ”
Liang Chen had never comforted someone before. Now, wanting to console Jing Haohao, he found himself unable to finish his sentence.

After a brief pause, Liang Chen remembered that traveling could be a great stress reliever and a healing experience. He continued, “The company will be busy this week, but once that’s over, I’ll have some free time next week. I haven’t managed to rest properly since the start of the new year. It so happens that I’ve been thinking about taking a holiday. Hainan’s weather is perfect this time of year, not too hot, not too cold. We could go there to relax and clear our minds.”

Jing Haohao’s hand, which was holding the spoon, shook slightly. Keeping her head lowered, she continued to consume her vegetable porridge and responded with a simple, “Okay.”

After breakfast, Liang Chen glanced at the clock. It was almost nine. As he was changing his shoes at the entrance, unable to help his concern, he looked over at Jing Haohao who was standing by with Nanny Lin, ready to see him off. After a thought, he beckoned Nanny Lin over.
