Chapter 95: Garage
Chapter 95: Garage
Khalifa’s every movement looked precise, clean, and beautiful. Easily, it captured the heart of one of the most narcissistic men on the planet.
In fact, Khalifa was not a professional kendo player or fencer. But she had great reflexes making people think she was very skilled with the sword.
The metal kind.
The women could only gape, remembering her words of threats with sudden increased weight.
They paled, feeling as if they had a brush with death.
Khalifa, at this point, didn’t use her ability because no one else had awakened yet. Also, she didn’t need to. She didn’t want to waste her powers now that she didn’t have a ready bed partner by her side.
If Hugo could hear her worries, he’d gladly jump in her line of sight.
The two of them fought back to back, with Khalifa taking on the close range fights, while Hugo supported her with his superb marksmanship.
Khalifa was impressed. She could only hit half of ten, and he managed to hit every shot with precise accuracy.
Because of this, she could slash away without worry.
It could be said that, objectively speaking, Hugo was quite a decent companion in the apocalypse.
Slowly, the two of them backed to the garage as they defended and attacked. They gestured to open the mechanical door as soon as it was in arm’s reach. Hugo pushed up the switch while Khalifa killed the approaching zombies.
"Get in!" He told Khalifa, shooting those around her. Then he noticed Plasma ray losing power.
"Shit!" He yelled. He had no choice but to ditch it and use it as a blocker instead.
Hugo immediately ran to her, pulling her inside, ignoring the zombies that could very easily bite his arm.
Khalifa was a little surprised, but went with him, slashing some more zombies along the way.
"Drive in!" He yelled in the direction of the monster truck and the car soon entered. As the truck drove in, they immediately closed the door, and the two of them continued to handle the zombies that managed to get in.
Thump!
The sound of the door shutting close and all the zombies inside falling down was the best sound they heard in a while.
"We did it!" Khalifa yelled, unconsciously hugging him, but was quick to get away when she saw the plasma gun on the ground.
She went to grab the gun, studying it, as she went to a random corner, not noticing Hugo’s stare.
Hugo, at this point, was frozen.
More than their survival, that smile of hers made his day.

Hugo once again began repairing the car while Khalifa prepared food (noodles with jerky) for the two of them. Hugo studied the car for a while, determining the most efficient mode of action. He then made a mental checklist of what to repair, and knew he had a lot of work to do under the hood.
Anyway, to do this comfortably, he needed a bit more muscle freedom.
The girls couldn’t help but watch as Hugo took off his shirt to handle the car, sweat crawling down his gorgeous muscled body, down his mermaid line, stopping on his pants.
More, the sweat was making his copper skin shimmer.
Sexy. Very sexy.
Trina looked particularly dark. Not long ago, she could still touch those muscles, lick them to her heart’s desire.
But she didn’t say anything for now, lest she appear desperate.
Men like Hugo disliked that type the most. She knew this, so she stopped herself every time she wanted to throw herself at him, begging for his love and his cock.
"So handsome…" Kara mumbled, but blushed when she realized she said this out loud, "Y-You’re amazing sister Trina, for bagging a man like that."
Trina scoffed, but continued to chew on the tasteless bread on hand.
The girls had bread and they sat a bit far, so not to torture themselves of the aroma of Khalifa’s food.
However, after a while, Kara realized she just couldn’t handle it anymore. Her eyes looked at the doors connecting to the garage. She saw from the outside earlier, those were all houses.
"I’ll check the houses."
Maybe they’d find more ready-to-eat food as well.
Hugo’s villa was huge but it wasn’t used much. How much food could there be?
Bitter, Trina couldn’t help but agree. She also brought her weapon—an ax she found nearby—and Kara joined her with a steel pipe.
Subconsciously, they wanted to prove they were no less brave than Khalifa.
They would never admit it, but seeing her fight like that made them feel incredibly ashamed and useless.
"You shouldn’t be exploring…" Phenny mumbled, a bit scared, but she followed her daughter anyway.
They got past a few doors safely, and even found a few jams to make their bread better. Also biscuits and canned meat.
They smiled at each other, a bit proud, as they bagged what they could get and show off to the two people outside.
They were so engrossed that they realized a few zombies had already entered the room.
There were three of them: one adult male, and two boys. Teenagers. All very dead and facing them hungrily, walking towards them for a meal.
The zombies groaned and only at this time did the women think to turn their heads to see their ugly faces.
The three women gasped and stood up, dropping whatever they were holding, running.
In their haste, they ended up running themselves into a corner of the room and they watched as zombies blocked all directions.
They screamed at the top of their lungs, waving their weapons wildly, barely managing to keep the monsters at bay.
It didn’t take long for one to get past the random flurry of attacks and opened his mouth to bite at the nearest person: Kara.
"Kyaaaa!" Kara yelled, desperate, unconsciously pushing the person next to her to shield herself.
This person happened to be her own mother.
"Kara!!" Phenny yelled, losing balance, eyes wide in disbelief.
Kara paled and shook as she watched her mother bitten by the zombie and lose a bit of flesh.
"Mother!" Kara screamed in despair, but didn’t go to her rescue.
They watched as Phenny slowly lost the life in her eyes, completely dead, and she soon moved in crackling motions, joining the adversaries hungry for their flesh.
The woman turned the three zombies into four. How could the two girls defend themselves two to one?
They screamed as they attacked, trying to defend themselves, hoping someone would hear their pleas.
But they were unskilled and outnumbered and the Zombies got past their defenses at the same time. Their hearts dropped, thinking they would die.
However, at the last moment, a sharp edge went past them and beheaded the zombies.
After a series of continuous thuds, all the zombie heads dropped down and flew in random directions.
And Phenny’s head… happened to roll straight to her daughter’s feet.
