Khalifa: Queen in the Apocalypse

Chapter 147: Finally Reunited

Chapter 147: Finally Reunited

While Mira was quietly simmering, Laura’s attention was distracted when her pigtails were pulled. "Are you alright, Chubby?"

"Ow!" Laura frowned and touched her poor head. She raised her eyes and glared at the attacker, who just grinned and raised both hands in surrender.

"Ah, sorry, your hair was just so ugly I thought it was grass, so—"

"Shut up Howard!" Laura yelled, lunging at the man.. At this moment, she just wanted to kick the soldier to the ground.

So she did. Or so she tried.

The soldier laughed and easily avoided her kick.

Laura groaned, doing her best to go after him, although to no avail.

Laura had no idea she was no longer looking in envy somewhere else.

Kaize and Cauis weaved through the crowd trying to block them for a greeting. While they were polite, they could feel their patience wearing thing.

They were already so tired from fighting, why did they have to endure this? Where’s their woman!

Fortunately (for the crowd), before the two could say anything too acerbic, a certain older man called their attention.

"Excuse me." he said, pointing in a direction."Ms. Khalifa is there…"

Kaize’s eyebrows rose while Cauis was visibly surprised. "Mr. Bo?!"

The old man smiled. "It’s good to see you well, Mr. Hill." He said, "I would also like to speak with her, shall we go get her together?"

The two looked at each other nodded, and the three passed through the crowd not paying attention to anyone else.

Eventually, they found her drinking water next to Jacob.

She was quite flushed and they knew she probably couldn’t move very well anymore after all that activity.

The two men’s serious expressions immediately turned soft at the sight of her, and they automatically called to get her attention.

"Khalifa!"

Khalifa blinked and turned, beautiful face brightened further at the sight of them.

"You guys!"

The two immediately went to each of her sides, leaning down to give her a kiss.

Kaize happened to be faster so she kissed him first, and then turned to Cauis.

Not enough, Kaize pulled her for another, but deeper kiss, and the trio exchanged kisses for a while, oblivious to the stares around them.

People could only gape as she kissed two handsome men one after the other while Jacob, the lover that they knew of, patiently stood by.

Mira glared blood dripping from her clenched fist.

Why! Why was it always her!!!

Claire was already annoying—taking both Chris and Ryo—why was there someone even worse!

But this came unnoticed by the lovey-dovey trio that took a while to remember they were in public.

Eventually they parted and they looked at Mr. Bo.

Khalifa cleared her throat, a little embarrassed. "Mr. Bo."

"Ms. Khalifa…" the old man said, very respectfully. He hadn’t been so humble when she still had so much money.

"It’s so good to see you Mr Bo." She said, "What are you doing so pitiful in the hospital anyway?"

She was glad to see him. They were too busy earlier to have a chance to chat.

Mr. Bo sighed at her question, very deeply, and they knew he must’ve been through a lot. After a few beats, he gathered himself and he began to tell them his experiences.

At first, she thought Bo simply didn’t take her warnings to heart and had to go through a lot the past week.

Instead, they found out that he was very well prepared and even stayed in one of her properties. It could be said that they had lived amply during the first week or so.

It was just that he had to go to hospital with a few others to get antibiotics for his daughter, who was wounded by accident and had begun to show signs of wound infection. The others with him also had similar purposes. Sadly, none of them made it.

He was still surprised he managed to survive all that.

She had some in her property, but it was quickly consumed by the people there.

She blinked. "It wasn’t enough?"

"A hundred people have been staying there." He said, afraid she would blame herself. "There happened to be a gathering somewhere nearby, so there were a lot of survivors. You wouldn’t have foreseen that."

Khalifa’s tense shoulder slumped and she smiled. Mr. Bo also smiled. He wanted to tell her she had done a lot of good.

"Your property is being handled well," he told her, "A lot of people have been saved."

Khalifa smiled, relieved, but couldn’t help but warn them of the future. "You should still find a legitimate base though. Such houses would soon be dangerous as well."

"We are aware, yes." He said, looking at the soldiers who were watching their exchange. "Then can we come with you?" He looked at the sky already turning dark. "We can rest there."

Khalifa nodded and then turned to Ryo, "I also have a lot of facilities that can transfer to the base."

Ryo and the soldiers brightened. Even if there weren’t, they really needed rest and would have agreed to go there regardless.

Not to mention, there were a hundred survivors there. They naturally had to take a look.

Khalifa looked at Ryo who, while surprised, immediately nodded in agreement. Without further ado, the team packed up and headed with a slight change of plans.

It was around this time that her peers finally couldn’t stop themselves from asking. "You have a good house nearby?"

It was Laura, and she looked at her curiously, recalling her last video stream. "It must have been well prepared?"

Khalifa shrugged, "Enough, considering what we could."

However, anyone could tell from the old man’s tone that she was being humble.

A lot of civilians and soldiers couldn’t help but praise. "You’re amazing Ms. Khalifa!"

"Just got lucky." She said, indifferent and Mr. Bo shook his head.

"You have no idea how many people you saved." He said, "You’ve done a very good thing Miss."

Through her, Mr. Voltaire helped hundreds of people even after his death.

It would’ve made the man extremely proud.
