Khalifa: Queen in the Apocalypse

Chapter 134: Saviors

Chapter 134: Saviors

However, there were still hundreds of zombies, and they were dead tired long ago.

Their movements had significantly slowed down and they would definitely be losing more people soon.

But…

Ryo’s eyebrows rose as he realized that even if they were getting slower, no one had died.

It was here that he noticed one of his soldiers was about to be bitten. He raised his gun to save him, but it fell down on its own.

He blinked and was sure there was a flash of reflection somewhere. He didn’t have the time to look around however, as he was focused on keeping his team, and the students and teachers alive.

"Teacher!"

Ryo turned to look at the short haired woman approaching with her large axe. She stood tall even while she still bandaged. She was injured because she fell straight to glass. Fortunately, Claire was very well versed in wounds so her injury had been settled.

Before leaving the school, Ryo had seen how she protected her students with all her might, and she really ought to rest now.

Helena was still as valiant as he remembered. He gave her a polite nod as she joined them outside the car, her own weapon raised high.

"You’re not going to be able to help in that condition. You’re not a soldier anymore."

"I can’t sit still when my students are dying." She said, turning to the students and raising her weapon—an axe for fire fighters—and joining in the fight.

They all fought hard, except for a few parasites, but there were still scores of zombies and more being attracted by their smell and number, and it was taking more and more toll until they could barely move their hands anymore.

When they were at their limit, a line of zombies that was about to eat a few of them fell down as if out of nowhere.

They had just now belatedly discovered one way or another that they were being assisted.

A few minutes later, many of the zombies in the vicinity were dealt with, either falling down on their own, shot, or beheaded.

"What’s going on??"

Fortunately, they didn’t have to be puzzled for long, as soon the faces of their assisters became visible the more zombies around them appeared.

Seeing them, everyone could only gape.

It was a gorgeous woman and a handsome man, unbelievably good-looking and well-kept in this situation.

The woman was gorgeous with her ponytailed silver-blue hair, gorgeous features, and surrounded by an ethereal air about her.

She was also very valiant and strong.

Every slash of her sword meant a zombie or two would definitely fall down. They couldn’t even see how her sword could reach so far.

In any case, even when she was killing, she was like an angel. No, a goddess.

The man was also handsome, with chiseled features, lean muscles, and somber atmosphere.

The zombies seemed afraid of him, and he harvested their heads without challenge.

Soon, the zombies were cleared out and none were approaching anymore.

The couple walked towards the crowd, gaping at them in amazement and admiration.

She soon came close enough for Claire to see her.

Unexpectedly, the girl cried, running to this kinda-friend and hugging her as if she was her pillar of support. "Khalifa!!"

She was so happy that she didn’t notice her roommates and their classmates gasping in shock at her revelation.

"WHAATT!?"

******

The people could only watch the women’s interaction in a daze.

"I knew you were alright!" Claire yelled, almost squealing. Some held-back tears had started to line up. "It was horrible…"

"Well, you’ve done well, considering everything." Khalifa smiled, patting the girl’s head. "Where’s Chris?"

Claire sniffed. "He was called for a sudden family reunion…" she mumbled, "He said it’ll only take a day. Who would’ve thought—"

Khalifa nodded, and she couldn’t help but sneak a glance at Ryo.

Fate seemed to have a way to keep things as they were meant to, in particular if it had to do with the main leads.

Was this threesome a sure thing? Poor kids would have to suffer so much emotionally for at least the next year.

But Khalifa kind of wanted to try a bit harder.

How many fans could actually influence the ’couple ship’ that they liked?

But what was she to do? Seduce Ryo?

But that thought was dismissed as soon as she mused it. For one, Jacob was right next to her, and second, being a soldier was stressful enough.

She’d rather not give these heroes another thing to worry about. One Kylo was more than enough.

Speaking of, Ryo and Kylo shared the same eyebrows and eye shape. It was very interesting, but she didn’t dwell too much into it.

Not far from them, the students who hadn’t already fainted were chatting about as they rest.

They were dead tired before, but their batteries recharged a little at the prospect of good gossip.

Laura and Mira looked at the two chatting. "When did they get so close?" Laura mumbled. Only now did she see that Claire was actually on the verge of a breakdown.

"Khalifa… she looks familiar." Mira narrowed her eyes. Then, the image lined up and she stared in disbelief.

She frowned and turned her head to looked at Laura, whispering.

Of course, whispering was a conservative term, because her voice was loud enough for people closely around to hear. "Didn’t you say you saw her in professor Hill’s room? They’re lovers right?"

Laura’s eyebrows furrowed and she stared at Khalifa, complicated expressions on her face.

After all, to their knowledge, not only was the professor her man, but she also had a sex scandal with Kaize.

Her eyes looked at the handsome masculine man standing near her like a guard.

Now, there was another one.

It was here that Mira’s top supporter, Boba—who had long freed herself from hiding—told her unsolicited opinion. "If that’s true then… she’s seducing everyone."

A boy next to him chuckled. "She can seduce me too."

"Me too…"

The girls ignored these idiots and went back to their own circle.

Boba sneered, "Tsk tsk, what a slut." She said and the other two didn’t exactly agree out loud, though what they were thinking was anyone’s guess.

Mira patted Laura’s shoulder, as if comforting her, but Laura shook her head in the end.

"She did save us…" she mumbled, though her face was a little pale. "We can’t be talking badly about them.

"No matter what: They’re still our saviors." She said, before walking away from Mira to have some space by herself.

Mira watched her back with unknown emotions, before turning her head to Khalifa with dark eyes.

What are you doing here, Khalifa?
