?Chapter 616: Chapter 617: Moved (9)_1 Chapter 616: Chapter 617: Moved (9)_1 Outside the residential area where Jing Haohao lived, there was an Industrial and Commercial Bank. A handful of people were withdrawing money inside. Jing Haohao found an outlet, recharged her card, and then went straight back home.

The electrical card safety box was set up in the corridor. Jing Haohao, being not tall enough, had to tip-toe and exert a lot of effort just to insert the card, but she failed.

Eventually, she decided to turn on her phone’s flashlight, go home, and fetch a chair.

The chair was made of solid wood, requiring both hands of Jing Haohao to lift. She had no choice but to place her phone on the living room TV, casting a barely sufficient light, then she strenuously dragged the chair towards the door.

The light from her phone couldn’t reach far. As Jing Haohao passed by the entryway, the chair accidentally tripped on the shoe rack, causing her to lurch forward. Her leg hit the corner of the chair she was carrying. The pain quickly shot into her heart, making her gasp for breath. She couldn’t help but squat down, saying something under her breath. The door in front of her, which hadn’t been closed, was suddenly pushed open and an anxious voice cried out, “Haohao?”

Clutching her pain, Jing Haohao lifted her head and looked up at Liang Chen, who was standing against the faint light in the hallway.

Before she could come to terms with his sudden appearance in her home, the man quickly stepped in, effortlessly lifted the chair from her hands, put it aside, then knelt down and anxiously inspected her, asking, “Are you okay? Where are you hurt?”

Jing Haohao shook her head. As Liang Chen looked up and saw the darkness inside her room and the electrical card she was clutching in her hand, he instantly understood everything. He took the card from her, stood up and went outside. Within a minute, the lights in the house were on and the room was bright again.

By the time Liang Chen returned to Jing Haohao’s room, she had already stood up. The pain in her leg had mostly dissipated. She went into the kitchen and switched on the stove.

Liang Chen picked up the chair by the doorway and returned it to its original place. Hearing the noise, Jing Haohao turned her head and looked over at Liang Chen.

Before she could ask anything, Liang Chen put the two bags he carried onto the chair and said, “These are the things you bought this afternoon. You forgot to take them with you.”

Jing Haohao quietly nodded. Before she could speak, the water behind her began to boil. She turned around, lifted the pot lid, and steam suddenly billowed out.

It had happened twice now. The first time was in Japan when she most needed help, and he appeared timely.

The second time was tonight. Though these were small everyday tasks that anyone could do, in a regular household, these were the responsibilities of the man. Especially when she accidentally bumped her leg and felt excruciating pain, he appeared again, easily helping her settle the minor issue.

Once it was a monumental event, the second time it was an ordinary incident.

Yet, both times gave her a sense of indescribable warmth and touched her deeply.

Ever since Jing Haohao returned from the Qian Hua banquet, her previously suffocating mood had slightly improved.

Liang Chen had no idea why Jing Haohao abruptly left the banquet. He was somewhat concerned and thought of the clothes she left in his car, so he hurried over.

Now, he had returned her belongings and she was safe. It seemed, he had no reason to stay any longer.
