?Chapter 615: Chapter 616: Moved (8)_1 Chapter 615: Chapter 616: Moved (8)_1 The late autumn night wind was cold, almost bone-chilling, yet Jing Haohao was impervious to this chill, walking aimlessly along the road, without purpose or direction.

Her long hair was a mess from the wind, covering her face.

She didn’t know where she should go, her mind was empty, void of any thoughts. It was filled with Qian Hua’s confession to Liang Chen, imagining what he would say in response, and if they would end up together.

In short, her brain was stuffed with a jumble of thoughts, leaving her no energy to contemplate anything else.

Jing Haohao had been wandering the streets for quite some time when her phone rang, and she stopped.

She pulled out her phone—it was Liang Chen.

She stared at the screen, lost in thought for a moment, not answering.

When the ringing stopped, he called again within a minute.

Only then did she answer the phone.

From the other end, Liang Chen’s voice sounded somewhat anxious: “Haohao, where are you?”

Listening to his voice, Jing Haohao somewhat inexplicably felt like crying. Clenching her phone tightly, she finally spoke after a moment: “When you didn’t come out of the restroom, I went home without telling you. I’m sorry.”

After hanging up, Jing Haohao hailed a taxi on the roadside and returned home.

The rented single-room apartment was empty, devoid of anyone, making Jing Haohao feel even more depressed.

The dishes from her lunch with Xian’er before their shopping trip were still left, so Jing Haohao put her bag down, picked them up, and washed them carefully, in an effort to alleviate her desolation.

She washed the dishes, then wiped the table and the floor, putting the entire room in perfect order, until she collapsed onto the sofa from exhaustion. She still felt stuffy and uncomfortable.

She hadn’t eaten anything at Qian Hua’s birthday party. Having been busy for so long, she was a bit hungry so she opened the refrigerator. Besides eggs and noodles, there was nothing else to eat.

Jing Haohao took a pot, filled it with water, and prepared to cook noodles.

Before the water started boiling, suddenly all the lights in the house went out, and the kitchen was plunged into darkness. Even the induction cooker was quiet.

Jing Haohao stood in the dark kitchen for a couple of seconds, then slowly turned around, groped her way out. It took her a while to feel her way to the sofa and rummage for her purse.

In the past, when she was living alone, the occasional power outage wasn’t a problem. At those times, she would call Shen Liangnian on her phone and he would come over as fast as he could, take her electricity card, and go to the bank to top it up for her.

Later, when she lived in Liang Chen’s villa, she was always surrounded by light and didn’t worry about power outages.

She knew that living alone wasn’t easy, but when she really faced these bits and pieces of life, she realized how much she needed someone to rely on.

Jing Haohao found her bag on the sofa, pulled her phone out from it, turned on the flashlight, and retrieved her electricity card from the bedside table in her room. She then left to recharge it.
