?Chapter 457: Chapter 458: Relief (10)_1 Chapter 457: Chapter 458: Relief (10)_1 “No… I’m still on a business trip in Shanghai…haven’t returned to Jiangshan City yet…It’s okay, we can make up for it in a few days… I have something to do, I’m going to hang up now… Okay, thank you.”

Liang Chen ended the call and turned his attention back to Jing Haohao. “I know of a farmhouse restaurant about an hour’s drive from here, they serve organic vegetables and the taste is quite good, let’s go there for dinner, okay?”

Liang Chen gazed at Jing Haohao for a while, then added, “I promise, I’ll get you back before ten, so it won’t affect your shooting the next day.”

“Perhaps today is not possible.” When Jing Haohao uttered these six words, she saw a fleeting look of disappointment flash through Liang Chen’s eyes. She avoided his gaze, eyes slightly downcast and spoke, “I promised Xian’er that I’d take her out for dinner tonight.”

Liang Chen thought for a moment, backed down, and said, “Why don’t we bring her along?”

“No, I think it’s better not to. She doesn’t know you well.” Xian’er, in front of her, was easygoing, but with the addition of Liang Chen, she’d probably be too nervous to eat. What’s more; this dinner was to thank her for helping me sell my house earlier. Therefore, Jing Haohao added, “Moreover, I need to memorize my lines tonight, If I go to such a distant place for dinner, spending too much time going back and forth, I won’t be able to finish my work in the evening. Let’s dine together another time.”

Liang Chen stared at Jing Haohao in silence for a long time, then said, “Alright, let’s postpone it.”

Jing Haohao nodded, feeling suddenly at a loss for words. The mood fell silent once again.

After a while, Xian’er walked out from the main hall. Jing Haohao broke the awkward silence and said, “Well, Xian’er and I will leave first.”

Liang Chen’s attention never left Jing Haohao’s face. It wasn’t until much later that he slowly withdrew his gaze. Noticing a small red spot beneath Jing Haohao’s fair neck, he wrinkled his brow. Then he directed a murmur of agreement towards Jing Haohao.

Jing Haohao paused for a moment, then departed with Xian’er.

Still standing on the staircase, Liang Chen watched Jing Haohao’s back, faintly hearing Xian’er’s voice, “Haohao, let’s go to the spicy hot pot restaurant near the hotel, I haven’t eaten spicy food for a long time, I miss it…”

The Spicy Hot Pot Restaurant was quite crowded. Jing Haohao and Xian’er had to wait for five tables before they could take their seats.

Just as they were about to place their order after deciding what they wanted, Xian’er said, “Remember to add two bowls of rice for us.”

“Alright,” responded the waiter. His fingers flew over the order machine and he repeated their order to them, asking “Ladies, if there’s no mistake, may I place your order now?”

After about half an hour’s wait, the spicy and colorful hot pot was served. While they were enjoying their meal, a voice suddenly sounded in their ears: “Do you mind if I join you?”

Jing Haohao and Xian’er both looked up at the same time, to see Liang Chen—who had supposedly left—standing nearby, his eyes fixed on Jing Haohao.

Jing Haohao’s brow furrowed in confusion, but before she could ask why Liang Chen had returned, Xian’er nodded her head eagerly and replied with caution, “Sure, Mr. Liang.”

“Thank you,” Liang Chen replied politely, and pulling out a chair, he sat down next to Jing Haohao.
