The only hotel near the Film and Television City was a four-star one. Whenever a production crew was there for shooting, the hotel was always fully occupied.
Summer was peak filming season. There weren’t enough rooms in the hotel, so Jing Haohao and Xian’er shared one.
Nanny Lin made the bed and hung a mosquito net for Jing Haohao, using linens brought from their home. She placed all of her toiletries in the bathroom one by one. The driver then brought in a mini fridge, plugged it in, and arranged cartons of milk inside.
The two were busying themselves silently and needed no help from Jing Haohao, and they had everything arranged perfectly for her.
At five o’clock, it was time to gather with the crew. Nanny Lin and the driver gave Jing Haohao careful reminders to take care of herself before leaving.

When Liang Chen came home that evening, the villa was as quiet as usual, but without Jing Haohao, it seemed somewhat empty.
Liang Chen lay in bed, tossing and turning unable to fall asleep. He picked up his phone, intending to call Jing Haohao. But as soon as he found her number, he hesitated and lowered his hand.
He tossed and turned in bed until dawn when he finally fell asleep in a daze. Early in the morning, he went downstairs. As he looked at the breakfast table full of nutritionally balanced food, he thought of Jing Haohao busily working on the set. She probably only had time for a hurried breakfast. Liang Chen held his face tight and stayed silent for a moment then turned to Nanny Lin and asked, “Did Miss Jing take everything? Did she leave anything behind?”
Nanny Lin, who always understood Liang Chen, knew that he was just looking for an excuse to visit Jing Haohao. So she paused, thinking carefully, and said, “We only prepared a mosquito net for Miss Jing but forgot to bring repellents. It’s summer now. There are a lot of mosquitoes and bugs around. Her delicate skin definitely can’t stand the bites.”
Liang Chen furrowed his brows and then grunted saying, “Prepare dinner a little earlier in the afternoon and put it in a food container. I’m going to the Film and Television City.”
“I understand.”
After giving the command, Liang Chen left for his office.
He had meetings all morning, ending only at half-past twelve, giving him a short break. Liang Chen returned to his office, seeing the lunch prepared by Miss Su, he asked, “Are there any arrangements in the afternoon?”
Miss Su checked her iPad, then replied, “There’s a high-level company meeting at three, and you have scheduled a session of golf with Mr. Zhang at five.”
“Move the meeting to one, and reschedule golf with Mr. Zhang for another day.”
“Yes, Mr. Liang.”
Liang Chen rubbed his chopsticks together twice, then said, “Pick a time later on, help me buy some floral water and bug repellent.”
Miss Su, a university graduate, had been an admired secretary at Jiangshan Group for a few years. Now that the big BOSS was asking her to buy floral water and bug repellent, it was almost like using a talented person in an insignificant position. She was stunned for a moment before nodding in agreement.
By two o’clock, Liang Chen had rushed through the company meeting, drove back to the villa, collected the food Nanny Lin had prepared and headed over to the Film and Television City.
