?Chapter 243: Chapter 244: Text Message (3)_1 Chapter 243: Chapter 244: Text Message (3)_1 Their eyes met; surprise was unmistakable in Liang Chen’s gaze. Jing Haohao, however, felt somewhat embarrassed by this surprise. She said softly, “Dinner’s ready, come in and eat.”

Having spoken, she hastily turned around and went directly into the dining room.

Liang Chen washed his hands and by the time he entered the dining room, the servant had already served the meal.

The two didn’t converse much during the meal, and as soon as they finished, Nanny Lin ordered dessert to be served.

Even though Jing Haohao had learned to make these desserts, this was her first attempt. Visually, they looked appealing, but when she tasted it herself, she found it to be an uncomfortably sweet taste. Embarrassed, she put her spoon down and said, “I think I messed up.”

“Did you?” Liang Chen picked up his spoon and took a taste. His brow momentarily furrowed but quickly relaxed. He quietly finished off his bowl of Sweet Dew as if nothing had interrupted his meal, then reached out and pulled Haohao’s mostly untouched bowl of Sweet Dew towards him, finishing every last drop.

Then, he set down the bowl and looked at Jing Haohao, who was staring at him in astonishment. He commented, “It’s not bad, the taste is good.”

After a pause, he pointed upstairs and said, “I’m going to take a bath first, then we’ll take a walk.”

And with that, Liang Chen turned around and left the dining room.

“Miss Jing, this is the first time Mr. Chen has eaten so much Sweet Dew.” Nanny Lin said while collecting the dishes, a smile on her face. “Keep in mind, Mr. Chen always considered this dessert to be a treat for young girls and rarely ate it. But the fact that you made it is the only reason he ate so much.”

Jing Haohao wanted to smile, but as she looked into the two empty Sweet Dew porcelain bowls, her expression turned blank.

Late in the night, Liang Chen took Jing Haohao into his arms for another passionate encounter. After it ended, Liang Chen didn’t rush to clean up in the bathroom but instead lay on Jing Haohao’s body, tenderly kissing her forehead, whispering, “Are you free tomorrow night?”

“What’s the matter?”

“Tomorrow night, I’ll pick you up from the set, and we can go to dinner together.”

In the past, he regarded holidays such as Christmas Eve as dull and primarily for smitten couples to enjoy. But upon noticing several colleagues planning their festivities with their loved ones, he began to have similar ideas.

Jing Haohao paused at the thought of that text message.

“What’s wrong?”

Hearing Liang Chen’s question, Jing Haohao quickly shakes her head saying, “Nothing.”

“So, I should pick you up tomorrow evening?” Though Liang Chen’s question seemed to ask for confirmation, his tone carried a hint of certainty.

This time, Jing Haohao nodded naturally at Liang Chen, uttering a soft “hmm” in agreement.

On Christmas Eve, Jing Haohao’s morning routine remained unchanged. She wore her regular down jacket, grabbed her usual handbag, and asked the driver to take her directly to the film set.

Once there, Jing Haohao let the driver leave as usual, then she stepped onto the film set.

To the driver, Nanny Lin, and Liang Chen, everything seemed normal as usual.

Make-up, acting, and by eleven in the morning, Jing Haohao had finished shooting for the day.
