Chapter 176 - 176 177 Encounter (6)_1
?Chapter 176: Chapter 177: Encounter (6)_1 Chapter 176: Chapter 177: Encounter (6)_1 Ever since Liang Chen left that night, he had not returned for two consecutive nights.
Jing Haohao might have been hurt by Liang Chen and stayed in bed for 36 hours straight, before coming downstairs for lunch.
Perhaps because she had been lying down for too long, Jing Haohao went for a walk in the yard in the afternoon.
When Nanny Lin went out for shopping in the afternoon, she saw Jing Haohao sitting by the pool in a daze. Knowing that Liang Chen had not returned for two days and would probably not return for some time, she approached and asked, “Miss Jing, I’ll be going to Jiangshan City this afternoon. Would you like to come with me?”
Nanny Lin paused before adding, “Mr. Chen might not be back for a while. Even if you leave, he might not know about it. It’s boring to stay at home every day. I’m not sure what you like to eat. Do you want to go and select for yourself?”
Jing Haohao thought for a while, nodded, and said, “I’ll go upstairs to change my clothes.”
…
Liang Chen had some drinks last night. For both his own safety and the safety of others, he did not rush back to Jiangshan City overnight but stayed at a small inn in the town instead.
The inn, compared to the Four Seasons Hotel where he stayed in Jiangshan City, was worlds apart. Having grown up in luxury, it was hard on him, so he left after less than two minutes, going back to his car.
In the end, he simply reclined his car seat and made do with a night there. The next morning, he ate some random breakfast in the town, refilled his gas, and drove back to Jiangshan City.
But halfway through, there was a traffic jam on the highway. It wasn’t until after three in the afternoon that Liang Chen entered the city of Jiangshan.
Liang Chen drove straight to the Four Seasons Hotel, took a shower, sent his clothes for dry cleaning, and lay on the bed to rest. Less than thirty minutes in, he was already restless. He opened his eyes and began flipping through Jing Haohao’s childhood items, after which he dialed the villa on Half Mountain.
The call was answered quickly, and the butler’s respectful voice came through, “Mr. Chen.”
“Where’s Haohao?”
The butler on the other end didn’t speak for a while.
“Why don’t you speak?”
The next second, the butler’s somewhat nervous voice came, “Miss Jing, she is…”
“Ask her to answer the phone.”
The butler seemed too frightened to breathe.
Liang Chen’s heart tightened, and he couldn’t help lowering his voice, “Let Jing Haohao answer the phone!”
“Mr. Chen, Miss Jing went out with Nanny Lin.” The butler’s voice was trembling slightly.
Only then did Liang Chen breathe a sigh of relief, and then he hung up in frustration.
So she went out, why was he being so vague? He was so slow-witted that one would think something happened!
While grumbling, Liang Chen rang Nanny Lin, “Is Haohao beside you? Mm… no need to have her answer the phone. Just deliver her to the Four Seasons Hotel… have dinner out, don’t return for dinner.”
…
After he hung up, Liang Chen dialed the front desk, urging them to hurry his clothes over. Once properly dressed, he went downstairs.
He stood at the entrance of the Four Seasons Hotel. After waiting no more than five minutes, he saw a familiar car roll in and smoothly stop in front of him.
The driver got out and opened the back door, Jing Haohao bent over, but before she could get out of the car, someone called out, “Liang Chen?”
Jing Haohao and Liang Chen turned their heads towards the source of the voice simultaneously, seeing Cong Rong and Shen Liangnian emerge from the Four Seasons Hotel.
