Khalifa: Queen in the Apocalypse

Chapter 93: Breakfast

Chapter 93: Breakfast

The next morning, Khalifa went down to make her breakfast, this time not caring to make anyone else’s. Also, she did not bother with a disguise anymore.

One of the few good things about having an intimidating bastard around was that you’d likely be protected from leers of other men. So, she didn’t need to endure the disguise, and she could move much more comfortably.

She was peacefully frying herself some eggs when a hot breath touched her ears.

"Good morning." The velvety voice whispered, a warm hand sneakingly touching her curvy hips. "What’s for breakfast today?"

"Ham and eggs." She said, skilfully stepping away from his hold without pausing in her task. "My breakfast."

"Where’s mine?"

"Make one yourself." She said flipping the food over to her plate.

He watched her hungrily as he watched her videos, heat on his eyes would burn any other woman’s skin.

But not with Khalifa.

It wasn’t that she absolutely wouldn’t sleep with other men other than those three—she was so far away from them, there may come a time that she may need to have sex with other men.

After all, her power for some reason seemed to be anchored on the male semen.

The running theory was that the Other Her wouldn’t have awakened. It was her magic from another world that triggered her ability, but it needed to be anchored to things of this world.

For example, men’s seeds.

Regardless, she was also quite horny by nature.

She saw similarities between Hugo and Kaize before she knew him personally, but other than the fact that she cared more for the feelings of her current men, there were other things.

For example, at least Kaize treated the women well. He gave them gifts even after the break up (or so she heard, even in the magic continent he was very much a star).

This guy on the other hand—seeing as how he was handling his relationship with the red-head woman— was very different.

He obviously treated women as mere tools for venting, throwing them away after a few uses.

Context was everything. People had a different set of expectations in this place.

The culture in her previous world, should the same thing happen, would not be as hurtful. So… no matter how handsome and sexy, it didn’t appeal to her at all.

Seeing Khalifa didn’t care for him at all, Hugo frowned a bit. At least for now, he could understand she wasn’t playing hard to get.

However, instead of being discouraged, he was only fired up. He did like the challenge.

He couldn’t remember the last time he had some thrilling challenge with a woman. Hey—in retrospect, it seemed he never really had one?

He was quite looking forward to the game they could play.

So instead of pushing, Hugo gave her the space she wished for. "Okay, fine. Cook breakfast for me and I promise not to flirt for a while."

Khalifa paused and looked at him, his handsome face showing a rare seriousness.

"Really?"

"Really." He said, "I could give you a few guns as a guarantee. The plasma gun is a no-go for now, but I have plenty of others."

Khalifa pursed her lips in thought, unconsciously biting her lips, and Hugo clenched his fist to stop himself from forcefully kissing her again.

Khalifa looked at the man again. For her truck refitting and that plasma weapon, she decided to cater to him.

She nodded and stood up, making a simple food for him.

Hugo’s auburn eyes stayed on the beautiful woman as he watched her cook for him, not noticing how his eyes warmed.

This was the scene the three women saw as they went down, stomach gurgling from the food.

The women stared at them, saw the ambiguous atmosphere between the two, and gaped when they saw what Khalifa looked like.

She was incredibly beautiful with silver blue hair and blue-green eyes. They were awes by her delicate yet sharp facial features, and placed to disbelief by her perfectly proportioned body.

There was also an ethereal quality to her that was almost unreal.

Any man would drop to worship her if she wanted them to.

Trina’s hands gripped, her nails buried to her skin.

On the other hand, when Kara saw her face, she almost screeched.

"You’re that mermaid?!" She said, rudely pointing. "Aren’t you Kaize’s girlfriend?"

This girl was definitely one of the women who cursed on her online.

She watched as the girl’s ugly face turned to an even more hideous expression as she looked at her and Hugo in alteration.

"Seducing other people’s men—" Kara and Trina had become close at this time. She had a very bad impression of Khalifa from the start, let alone now.

Hugo frowned and Khalifa paused her cooking, raising an eyebrow as she looked at her. "It seems you want to be left behind…"

The mother covered her daughter’s mouth.

The newcomers remained silent as Khalifa finished cooking and placed the plates in front of her and Hugo’s seat.

Hugo smiled warmly at her and she ignored him, just continued eating her food.

Wordlessly, the two harmoniously ate ignoring the other people watching them.

Kara looked at them in incomprehension. "Are you not cooking for us?"

"Why would I?"

"You—" Then she looked at Hugo and looked at her mockingly as if to make a point.

"Do you own the house? Do you have a gun that I need?" Khalifa asked back.

"No one is generous enough to just help people." Then she paused, looking at the women sharply, making them flinch. "Don’t test my patience. Maybe I’ll keep you just to push you to the zombies as a distraction."

They have become better behaved since then, looking at Hugo with wronged expressions.

Surely, no matter how beautiful, no man would take in such a psycho??

Contrary to expectations, however, the man was staring at the beautiful woman with a warm smile.

Hugo had watched everything with his brown eyes, and he just got more fascinated.
