Chapter 172: Conflicts
Chapter 172: Conflicts
This made quite a few nearby guns point straight at him.
Kaize wasn’t fazed and just let him go. He raised his arm as if he didn’t do anything, as if the man was overreacting.
For a moment, the others did think so, until a large palm print—like a light burn, appeared on his arm.
"What the—" they whipped their heads to Kaize, who was very concise.
"WHAT DID YOU DO?!"
"No. Touching," was all Kaize said, malice oozing out of his tone. "Don’t test my patience."
Looking at him all serious, Khalifa knew even the most lighthearted of her men was now on the verge of exploding.
The gangsters couldn’t comprehend what happened but he was inexplicably afraid of this star. For a long time, they kept their distance, until a new voice emerged.
"You really have all men wrapped around your finger, eh?"
They turned to the source of the voice and a few men walked aside to let him through.
The man walked with a limp, walked closer and looked at Khalifa greedily. Her eyebrows rose as she realized that was one of the men who pretty much put the old man to death.
"Idiots! Don’t you know what he did?" He asked, before a small ember appeared on his finger tips, making the other’s eyes widen in recollection.
"That’s right! Boss Ping!" Then they turned to Kaize, "So you also got the fire then?"
Khalifa and the others looked at the person, apparently one who had risen quite high in this place even with his limp. This was likely due to the lighter he could make.
They were a bit intrigued. This had been the first time they saw anyone outside their circle using supernatural powers.
Anyway, the man named Ping grinned and looked darkly at the direction Kylo and the others went, before shifting to look at the two men with her.
"You must’ve rewarded your hero quite well, eh?"
Khalifa didn’t answer. She didn’t even bother to look at him again. The man’s eyes turned red and wanted to grab her.
However, before he could step closer, a small bump of earth appeared under his feet and he fell down face first.
Cauis stepped forward, looking down at him, "You shouldn’t walk too much… with your condition and all." He said, appearing prim as always. People would have believed him had his eyes not glinted with malice just now.
"You!" He yelled, using his arm to attempt to lift his weight. He was not able to do so, however—
Flop!
He fell down again.
This baffled him very much, though everyone else just thought he was making a fool out of himself.
His position was still high of course, so no one in his team dared show this thought on their faces.
While he laid there, the man shook in anger and humiliation. But unlike the others, he definitely knew he wasn’t just ’clumsy’ due to his limp.
After all, he had experienced electricity and could control fire himself.
These people must’ve done another set of magic on him!
He found it hard to believe that so many supernaturalists were in one group but he could still believe in his instincts.
This instinct allowed him to survive in that group despite such a big handicap! It allowed him to live long enough to awaken a rare power nobody else seemed to have!
The surge of pride seemed to have injected him with some power and a bigger than usual fireball—as big as a ping pong ball—immediately shot towards Cauis.
"He could really use fire!" Mira yelled, making the other girls cry. Combined with all the guns that rounded them up, they thought that maybe they had finally met their match.
"Oh?" Kaize said, easily catching the ball, and extinguishing it. "Well. I can use it better. So, do you really want to go?"
With his words a much bigger fireball—as big as a basketball—appeared in front of him.
Guns raised and Cauis immediately went to cover the women (note: Khalifa).
It was a tense couple of seconds until the large door opened, revealing the people who went to unlock the armory. .
They were startled at the commotion and even more shocked someone could control fire to a much better degree than their own supernaturalist.
Kylo did not like so many guns pointing at Khalifa and he frowned deeply, a bit of electricity charging across his body.
"STOP IT," he said while the base boss looked at the revered supernaturalist now pitiful on the ground.
"Ping! What’s going on?" Then he turned to Kaize, "It seems like you want to die?"
Cauis was the one who answered, "Our condition for the hostages not to be touched. Your people insisted."
Kaize sneered and looked at the enemies, "I assure you, our own attacks are no less faster than your guns."
Kylo saw the tension was at its breaking point and looked around. "Let us all go our way, and no one will get hurt."
The boss looked at him and then to the carts and carts of weapons and equipment being hauled out. The equipment was placed in their team’s cars, while most of the guns stayed with them.
The girls were let go and they tried to get into the cars as fast as they could while their equipment was being hauled. At the same time, on the enemy’s side, more guns were distributed. As more people got their weapons, the initial apprehension from the locals slowly swept away.
Every man now had their weapons, which definitely outgunned Kylo’s team. One is to two!
And they knew this.
A flash of greed in most men’s eyes, and they couldn’t help but look at Khalifa with eyes filled with lust.
"Hey, stop!" The boss said, with Ping limping next to him.
"Where are you going?"
"We’ve done part of our deal, and it’s time for us to get back to the base to the other survivors."
"EH?" The boss said, an ugly expression on his face, "Did we agree to that?"
Then all guns pointed in their direction, and Kylo and the others sighed.
They were already about to get in the car, and all they had to do was open the gates so they could leave, but it was obvious they were still being too idealistic.
Kylo’s eyes met Khalifa’s and the others. They had naturally considered a stab in the back. So they decided to position differently so the gun shots wouldn’t focus in a direction, and therefore much more controlled.
He nodded, very subtly, and every soldier and Khalifa’s team understood.
"Get down!!" He ordered and everyone in their team ducked, and the soldiers raised their arms as well as the gangsters.
Especially Ping, who had great malice in his eyes. It was finally his time for revenge! He swore the god-given fire power was not going to waste!
However, before the gangsters could press the triggers—and before Ping could even create a fire as big as a lighter—the unexpected happened.
Bang!
Other than those who died by headshots, most were all beheaded, while others either burned their hands or fell down a crack that suddenly appeared.
More than a hundred of the bastards, leaving the others covered in blood splatter.
There were also a number of unfortunate and unavoidable casualties on Khalifa’s side, but it didn’t compare to the tragedy of the other side.
It took a while for the unaware to realize what had just happened. It was only when the floor was flooded with blood that they realized it wasn’t a dream.
"WHHHHHHATTTTT!!"
"Kyaaaaaa!!"
"Oh my gosh!!!"
The gangsters’ victims couldn’t believe their eyes at the gruesome scene that happened in an instant.
What the heck happened?!
