Chapter 908 908: Giving a hand
Sealyn and everyone else used their magic to block the blast, but it was useless… before they could suffer casualties, Rain was forced to use the shield, and at the same time, he used his domain to make everyone there he was able to use the effects of Parameter Boost.
Following the initial onslaught of pain and devastation caused by the sea dragons' self-destruction, a clear shift occurred amidst the chaos. Amidst the agony, the sea warriors,, began to experience a change within their bodies. Gradually, they sensed an inexplicable surge of strength and resilience coursing through them, manifesting in increased health and fortified resistance against the attacks…
As minutes passed, the effects of the dragons' suicidal onslaught gradually weakened. The sea warriors found themselves gradually recovering from the overwhelming assault, their bodies adapting and growing stronger as the seconds ticked by. The resilience they gained became increasingly evident as the lingering effects of the dragons' assault ended.
Simultaneously, amidst the dissipating veil of blood and chaos, a sense of relief washed over the battlefield. The once-drenched area, previously shrouded in a crimson haze from the dragons' blood and the sea warriors' injuries, gradually saw the return of light. Remarkably, despite the intense confrontation and the sea dragons' act, the sea warriors emerged from the ordeal relatively fine.
Though covered in blood, a mix of their own and that of the dragons, they stood strong and remarkably resilient, having weathered the storm of the dragons' desperate assault.
"It seems that we survived somehow…" Seara said while trying to play dumb, even though she knew that Rain helped them survive.
"We need to check Grandpa… those who are too wounded to follow me will return to the island and protect the coast alongside those who stayed behind, the others come with me," Seara declared.
Rain looked around and could tell that while those who survived until the last attacks would live to see another day, they won't fight anytime soon… their bodies were a mess… even if they survived the suicide attack of one hundred dragons, they were far from being completely fine.
Regardless, after splitting their forces of four thousand to a bit more than fifteen hundred, Sealyn began to swim toward the northern side of the Island. It took a while for them to find the battlefield, but soon they felt the bottom of the oven shaking violently… Before they could reach the area, they also saw several bodies of the sea folk floating around.
Sealyn clenched her fists in anger while she bit her lips… she had become the sea Empress a while ago, but just like Rain, she still felt a great deal of guilt of seeing people dying in the battles that she led them.
Rain wished that he could give her some encouraging words, but he couldn't do that in such a situation… she couldn't show weakness at any moment.
"Well, I actually have a lot less experience leading thousands of people compared to her, so my advice will only annoy her," Rain thought.
Before long, the group reached the battlefield ahead and they were surprised to see dozens of bodies of dragons floating around and others at the bottom of the Ocean. Rain could see a lot of demi humans flying in the sky offering support with long ranged attacks and they were pushing away the dragons too.
All of a sudden, a series of resounding impacts reverberated throughout the ocean's depths. These powerful echoes were so potent that they caused visible fissures to materialize across the ocean floor. Initially, Rain saw these reverberations as indicative of Seadrei's power…
However, the truth swiftly was revealed, shattering any assumptions of Seadrei's dominance. As attention shifted towards the source of these seismic disturbances, the sea warriors were confronted with a startling sight: Seadrei appeared grievously wounded and swollen across his body.
The once-mighty warrior, previously anticipated as a force to be reckoned with, now was almost completely battered and injured, casting a shadow of concern and urgency over the entire battlefield.
"Dad, what happened here?" Seara asked.
"The enemies came at full force from this side… that guy led the charge and I tried to stop him, as you can see, I lost," Seadrei said while rubbing his eyes. "Some reinforcements arrived before things could have turn really bad, but that guy managed to escape from her and the other dragons helped him."
"Escape from her?" Seara frowned.
Slowly but surely, the dragons in the area were escaping… only a few of them were left behind to make sure that the demi humans being led by a female warrior wouldn't decrease their numbers even further.
When everyone focused their eyes in the distance, they saw Isa smashing the head of a leviathan dragon against the bottom of the ocean… she wasn't supposed to have a hand big enough for that, but her right arm right now was many times bigger than herself and had changed shape too.
Isa's ability to transform into a dragon didn't come as a shock to Rain, considering her lineage as a half-dragon. However, the partial transformation she displayed, particularly the ability to transform just her arm while retaining such significant power, was unexpected.
Rain found it intriguing and somewhat surprising that Isa could exhibit such controlled and formidable strength while only partially shifting her form. Despite this revelation, Isa's timely intervention turned the tide of the battle in their favor..
Isa's involvement played a crucial role, rallying numerous demi-humans to join the conflict. This infusion of additional forces helped prevent what could have been another devastating defeat for their side. The combined might of Isa's partial transformation and the reinforcement of demi-humans bolstered their defense, averting an otherwise potentially catastrophic situation in the ongoing conflict.
"Ah, haa…. This was tiresome," Isa said. "I am too old to play war agaisnt these kids," Isa said after she approached. Try not to force my hand again, okay? I am not really suited for combat."
