CH.619 Visiting Hime?aila
Today I’m starting off by visiting Hime?aila in the monster world. I have a painting I need to deliver to her, and I just want to see her ice citadel myself.
Thanks to Unika and Oku, I have a decent map of the monster world, so I shouldn’t get lost on the way. And since I’m going all the way there, I may as well visit Nir while I’m at it, and I’ll ask him if he wants to try out the Rank-Up-Magic Hyper Learning Force. I would ask Hime?aila, but I don’t think she is ready for it yet. It hasn’t been that long since she evolved into an SS-rank monster.
I was a little afraid of going to a different dimension, since my fissure senses are still tingling, but I don’t want to keep Hime?aila waiting. And I can get back quickly if one does pop up.
So after walking through the portal, I summoned my ship. You know which one.
With Space-Jet Dragon, the trip to Hime?aila’s area didn’t take all that long. This ship is too fast. … as if. It could be even faster.
The ice lands where Hime?aila lived were … fine enough. I think I expected more from an ‘eternal ice land’, but it is just land covered in snow and ice. There aren’t like massive ice spikes shooting out from the ground or anything like that.
Hime?aila’s ice citadel on the other hand was amazing. It wasn’t a perfect copy of HomeBase, but quite close.
I landed my jet near the entrance to the castle and got out. It was probably quite cold outside, but because, or maybe thanks to, Thermal Fluctuation Resistance, it felt perfectly fine for me even in my usual getup.
As I walked towards the gates leading to the citadel, the lizard guards at the gates kneeled to me and opened the gates, without me having to say a single word. That might be because I had changed my race to Draconic / Dragon Hearted / Dragon King, but they might also just realize that I’m Hime?aila’s summoner.
On the inside, I was quickly greeted by a few maids. They showed me some sights, including the ice statues. I was happy to see that Hime?aila had updated Unika’s statue to not only have Unika with all nine of her tails, but had also made a statue of Stella next to her.
Alice’s statue also had a statue of Mana by its side, which Unika never mentioned, so it is probably new.
“Sir. Please wait a moment.” One of the maids said to me, as I was still observing the statues.
“We shall get our lady and be right out.” The other one continued.
I acknowledged them leaving, and focused back on the statues. I had noticed a few mistakes in them, and I wanted to fix them.
For example, the angle of Lua’s top pair of wings was off. They were pointing too high towards the sky. Wilma’s beard was styled wrong. Alice’s fingers are too long. And a few other things that bothered me. I can’t really blame Hime?aila for getting them wrong, but I’ll still fix them.
I changed my race from Dragon Hearted to Prism-Ice Being so I could use Prism-Ice Magic better and got to work. Wilma’s beard was first, as it was a lot of tiny detail work, and Hime?aila would never get it right. I just know how it is, as I’ve looked at it so much, but if you haven’t, it would be near impossible.
Just that part took me a while and I honestly expected that Hime?aila would have arrived by now, but since she hadn’t, I moved to the next statue.
I worked on Alice next. That one was quite fast, as all I had to do was adjust her hands a bit. I did also try to alter the texture of the ice a bit to make it appear like Alice had nail polish on and in my personal opinion, I did quite well.
With Lua’s statue, after fixing the problem with her angel wings, I tried to make her bat wings have a tiny pit of transparency. They naturally aren’t transparent, but the white wing membrane does let light shine through it sometimes, so I adjusted the ice so that the statue’s wings would also do so when viewed from a specific angle.
As I was confirming that I did the ice correctly, Hime?aila arrived. She was in her humanoid form, looked tired, and her clothes were a bit ragged. I found that strange as she is always meticulous with her appearance.
“H-Hi, Master.” She greeted me. She tried to sound like her usual self, but she sounded a bit tired. “Do … Do you like my garden?”
“Good to see you at your home, Hime?aila.” I returned the greeting. “And I do love the garden. Hope you don’t mind that I adjusted a few of the statues.”
The ice dragon seemingly just realized what I had done, as she observed the statues. After taking them in, she answered.
“No. I like them better now.”
“Well, what about you? Because don’t take this as an offence, but you don’t look too good. Are you alright?”
“... long night.” Hime?aila answered. “The fur giants attacked and I had to defend the territory of the ice dragons. While they haven’t acknowledged me as a ruler, I am one of the strongest ice dragons so I had to take part.”
“I see. Hopefully it went well.”
“It was fine. They aren’t usually a threat, but they have teamed up with some sort of quadrupedal beasts that are also covered in fur, have tusks and a long … nose?” Hime?aila explained. “Those beasts were a pain.”
“Mammoths? Unika didn’t mention that they saw any.”
“So they are mammoths. Good to know.” Hime?aila said.
“I’m not sure, but sounds like it.”
“And Unika didn’t see them because none lived in this area. At least I’ve never seen any.” Hime?aila told me.
“So newcomers to the area. And they already teamed up or were tamed by the yeti.”
“Yeti?”
“I call the ‘fur giants’ that. It is a legend about an abominable snowman, or a huge monster covered in fur living on a snowy mountain.”
“... Well, it is easier to say than fur giant.”
“So, you managed to push them back, right?” I asked.
“Of course.” Hime?aila said, pride taking over her voice and almost banishing the tiredness. “We are dragons. We won’t lose to some … mammons.”
“Mammoths.” I corrected her.
“... besides, had we not stopped them, they would have run over my citadel. I couldn’t allow that.”
“I see. That is good motivation.” I told her. “Here, a reward.” I brought out the painting I promised to deliver from Storage. “A little reward for your victory.”
“... thank you.” Hime?aila said, as she gracefully received the painting.
One of the maids approached her, ready to carry it for her, but Hime?aila held onto it herself.
“... Master, how long can you stay? I know you are busy, but …”
“I do plan on visiting Nir as well, but I can share a bit of time. Sadly I can’t teleport across dimensions yet, but I can always leave a teleport seal here. Then I can just walk through the portal and teleport here in an instant.”
“Then… could you watch over me for a bit.” Hime?aila asked. “Just until I fall asleep.”
“Yeah. I can do that. And maybe a massage as well. You’ve worked hard and it might help.” I told the dragon.
After massaging my ice dragon, and helping her fall asleep, I left a little emergency device for her. I had the maids hold onto it. It is just an emergency signal that works across dimensions, nothing more, but that in itself is quite amazing.
With it, if Hime?aila needs me, she can send me a signal. And with the portal and the teleport seal, it won’t take more than five minutes for me to get here from when I get the signal.
I wished Hime?aila good night and left the citadel. The maids were trying to offer me some food, but sadly their cooking skills sucked, so I instead gave them some food that they can eat themselves or feed Hime?aila when she wakes up.
I then headed for the direction where Hime?aila indicated the fight took place. I wanted to see the yeti and mammoths for myself, and maybe make sure they don’t attack my dragon again.
It wasn’t hard to find the mammoths and the yeti. After all, they are all quite large. I mean, some of the mammoths are larger than Hime?aila herself. Then again, the dragons of this world aren’t that massive, unless we are talking about Janina.
I didn’t go directly to the ground to confront the creatures. I just decided to be evil instead. Because what killed the mammoths? Well, it wasn’t the ice age. It was actually humans. But in this case, it will be a giant meteor.
While flying high in the sky on Space-Jet Dragon, I summoned two Jurrac Velo and one Jurrac Aeolo. I helped them stay in the air with a mix of Telekinesis and Magical Arms. I then dropped the three dinosaurs and as they fell, the two Velo tuned up with Aeolo, so I could synchro summon Jurrac Meteor.
The Dinosaur Meteor fell from a great height, crashing in the middle of the area the yeti and mammoths were resting at. The initial impact must have killed most of them already, and then the shockwave released by Jurrac Meteor’s effect dealt with the rest.
I headed down to the impact site, just to see how deep the hole was. And it was deep. So deep that it made me think of a card I could use.
I got a copy of Dragon Ravine out of Storage, installed it into the ground, and then used some Earth Spirit Magic to guide the fissure that formed from the impact site. I hoped that the mammoths and yeti would respawn on the other side of it, and with the ravine in place, they can’t cross. They are land monsters, after all. But the dragons won’t be bothered as they can just fly over the ravine.
I waited until I saw some of the yeti start to respawn, and as I hoped, most of them were on the other side of the fissure compared to Hime?aila’s citadel. The few that respawned on Hime?aila’s side I pushed back.
I did that by using Prism-Ice Magic to make a bridge over the fissure, and then I summoned some monsters to fight them while herding them towards the bridge.
My monsters of choice were White Night Dragon, Ice Queen, Trishula, Gungnir and Brionac.
I wanted to use ice dragons, just to remind the yeti who is really in control of this area.
After they had all evacuated over the bridge, I transformed myself into a dragon and let out a massive fiery dragon breath to melt the bridge between the two sides. With that, the yeti and the mammoths couldn’t use it to get back to this side.
I was happy because Hime?aila’s citadel should now be safe, so I got back into my Jet Dragon and blasted off towards the area Nir should be residing in.
