?Chapter 648: Chapter 649: Lover (1)_1 Chapter 648: Chapter 649: Lover (1)_1 The man sitting across her, Liang Chen, glanced at his phone and looking up at Jing Haohao, he said, “Haohao, I may need to go on a business trip tomorrow. I won’t be able to come back until at least the 20th.”

Jing Haohao blinked, staring at Liang Chen. Her mind went blank in an instant. She opened her mouth, finding her breath somewhat shaky. After a while, she finally asked, “You’re going on a business trip?”

“Miss Su just sent a text saying there’s a problem with the project in Shanghai. They need me to oversee it personally. Then the branch there is officially opening on the 18th. I won’t be back until after the inauguration.”

Liang Chen gave a detailed rundown of his schedule. However, Jing Haohao didn’t have the emotional capacity to care about what was wrong with his project or when his branch office was opening. She was worried about how she would cope over the next two weeks or so. So, Jing Haohao simply nodded in response, muttering an “Oh”.

The food that Liang Chen ordered quickly filled the table.

Jing Haohao ate, while worrying about how she would survive the next 15 days.

By the time they finished dinner, it was quite late. Liang Chen called the waiter over to settle the bill, and then he and Jing Haohao left the restaurant.

It was a pedestrian street where vehicles were prohibited, so Liang Chen and Jing Haohao had to walk back to the parking lot the same way they came.

Although the snow on the street had been cleared, the remaining water had frozen in the late-night cold. Jing Haohao wore a pair of 8 cm high heels and slipped on the ice from time to time. If Liang Chen hadn’t quickly caught her each time, she didn’t know how many times she would have fallen.

In the end, Liang Chen squatted in front of Jing Haohao and picked her up.

The streets at ten o’clock in winter were quiet. The dim, yellow streetlights shone on the white snow on both sides of the street, reflecting a warm light.

Jing Haohao rested her head quietly on Liang Chen’s back, her nose filled with his fresh and pleasant scent.

She couldn’t help but reach out to lightly pull back the hand that was around Liang Chen’s neck.

Liang Chen felt the woman’s face behind him press closer to his neck. Her breath, smelling sweetly of orchids, quietly fell on his ear, making his heart itch. His every step slower, unable to resist her soft touch.

The ice on the ground reflected a bright light. Liang Chen stepped on it one foot at a time, walking exceptionally stably.

Jing Haohao turned her head to look at Liang Chen’s profile, thinking that the man’s fluid-like lines under the streetlights looked even more beautiful.

The corners of her lips lifted slightly, her tone filled with an undetected softness, she quietly asked, “Liang Chen, am I heavy?”

“Not at all.”

Liang Chen didn’t get to finish. Women, after all, were always sensitive about their weight and age. Jing Haohao was not satisfied with his answer and she retorted, “What do you mean by ‘Not at all’?”

Liang Chen heard the slight annoyance in her tone. Although he couldn’t see her face, he vividly imagined her expression.

She must be pouting lightly, just like the expression she wore when he saw her standing in front of Shen Liangnian’s car, revealing her dissatisfaction about something.

He never thought that one day, the expression he envied so much would be worn for him.
