Liang Chen tugged the corner of his lips slightly, then turned and went into the room without a word.
Not half a minute later, he came out carrying a thick winter coat, which he draped over Jing Haohao, silently buttoning it up for her.
Watching this scene from the doorway, Shen Liangnian suddenly felt superfluous. He slightly lowered his gaze.
Jing Haohao didn’t stop Liang Chen from buttoning her coat. Once he finished, she took the house key hanging in the hall and left.

Shen Liangnian was staring intently at Jing Haohao. The dim light of the community fell softly on her, casting a hazy glow on her face. When he heard Jing Haohao’s annoyed tone, a flicker of light danced in his eyes. After a while, he fished out a check from his pocket and handed it to Jing Haohao, “Haohao, I came to give you this.”
Jing Haohao glanced at the check in Shen Liangnian’s hand, seeing the sum of 10 million written on it. She looked at Shen Liangnian’s eyes with slight confusion.
Shen Liangnian met Jing Haohao’s gaze, “I heard you had a problem at the Haixin Company. I don’t know if it’s been resolved. I came to give you this check, and if it hasn’t been resolved, take this money.”
Jing Haohao moved her gaze away from Shen Liangnian’s face, her voice cool, “No need, thank you for your good intentions. That matter has already passed.”

Staring at her departing figure, Shen Liangnian watched for a while before asking, “Did Liang Chen help you resolve it?”
Jing Haohao didn’t answer.
Shen Liangnian paused, then asked, “Haohao, are you back with Liang Chen now?”
The woman he was facing maintained her silence, not showing any intention of speaking. Shen Liangnian’s hand holding the check was slightly tightened. He glanced at the distant streetlight and asked again, “Haohao, do you think you and Liang Chen are a good match?”
Finally, Jing Haohao couldn’t help but turn her head around. With a hint of anger on her face, she glared at Shen Liangnian, “What do you mean, Shen Liangnian?”
“Who I’m with, what does it have to do with you?”
