The man appeared to have had too much to drink as his steps were unsteady. His head was slightly lowered, making it impossible to see his face clearly. However, Jing Haohao noticed that the man’s figure looked somewhat familiar.
She stopped in her tracks and took a closer look. The man happened to raise his head, and she saw, with clarity, Liang Chen’s familiar handsome and refined features.
Jing Haohao stood frozen on the spot, as if turned to stone.
…
“Sir, can you hear me? Sir?”
“Sir, be careful…”
The security officer was escorting Liang Chen, continually checking in with him as they walked along. Suddenly, Liang Chen’s steps faltered, and he stumbled forward.
Despite her mind not yet fully awake, Jing Haohao instinctively moved forward, raising her hand to steady Liang Chen’s arm.
The security guard quickly propped Liang Chen up on his shoulder, thinking of Jing Haohao as a kind passerby. He chuckled and said, “Thank you.”
Jing Haohao merely nodded slightly before turning her head to look at Liang Chen.
The man suddenly dry heaved, startling the security guard who quickly crouched down to brace Liang Chen.
In an instant, Liang Chen started throwing up on the ground. The stench of alcohol disseminated everywhere, making it somewhat suffocating.
Liang Chen vomited for a while, seemingly emptying his stomach, yet showing no signs of stopping.
How much did he drink?
Jing Haohao raised her hand and gently patted Liang Chen’s back until he stopped vomiting. She then pulled out a tissue from her bag and wiped the corners of his mouth.
After observing Jing Haohao’s series of actions, the guard was stunned for a while. Finally, he pointed at Liang Chen and asked Jing Haohao, “Miss, do you know him? Is he a friend of yours?”
Jing Haohao moved her gaze from Liang Chen and turned her head to nod at the security guard.
“Great, Miss, this gentleman is too drunk to answer any questions. Do you know where he lives? Could I trouble you to take him home?”
Hearing this, Jing Haohao looked at Liang Chen and furrowed her brows.
Perhaps as a result of drinking too much, he looked very uncomfortable. His forehead was deeply furrowed, and his complexion was somewhat pale.
Jing Haohao pursed her lips, slightly nodded at the security guard, and said, “Could you please help me call a cab?”
The security guard immediately nodded, picked up his radio, and contacted the front desk of the hotel.
About five minutes later, a taxi pulled over and Jing Haohao first opened the car door. Then, with the help of the security guard, she helped Liang Chen get into the car.
Jing Haohao thanked the security guard and followed Liang Chen into the taxi.
Liang Chen leaned against the back of the seat, eyes shut, looking utterly miserable.
Jing Haohao gazed at Liang Chen for a while, then she heard the taxi driver ask from the front seat, “Miss, where are you headed?”
Jing Haohao initially wanted to say a hotel, but then thought that with Liang Chen as drunk as he was, the hotel might not have everything needed. So, in the end, she gave the address of the Half Mountain Villa.
…
The car stopped at the main entrance of the Half Mountain Villa. With the driver’s help, Jing Haohao got Liang Chen out of the car and supported him over to the side door. She reached out and pressed the doorbell.
About a minute later, someone came out from the villa. From afar, the person called out, “Who is it?”
Jing Haohao did not reply, but just pressed the doorbell once more.
