?Chapter 531: Chapter 532: Marry None but Her (8)_1 Chapter 531: Chapter 532: Marry None but Her (8)_1 Liang Zhoutian gazed at his indifferent younger son, a surge of uncontrollable anger welling up within him. Without thinking, he hurled the water glass in his hand viciously at Liang Chen’s head.
Liang Chen dodged the throw, causing the glass to smash against the wall beside Liang Yuan, shattering into bits. Pieces flew in all directions and fell on the floor. Only then did Liang Chen release the hold he had on Liang Yuan’s neck and slowly retreated two steps back.
Liang Zhoutian stared fiercely at Liang Chen. He scoffed coldly and ordered: “Liang Yuan, you come in here too!”
Finishing his words, he turned and walked briskly into his study.
Liang Yuan tidied up his clothes, messed up by Liang Chen. He kicked the ceramic fragments on the floor and called to the people downstairs: “Get someone up here to clean this up. Be careful not to let Linlin get hurt.” Then he followed Liang Zhoutian into the study.
…
Over so many years, Liang Chen hated nothing more than his father’s study.
When he was young, trouble at school led to countless trips to the principal’s office. Each time, his father’s men would drag him home, locking him inside the study for a harsh scolding followed by a stint facing the wall in reflection.
As a result, when he grew up, Liang Chen avoided entering his father’s study whenever possible, and so it has become that any time he did go into the study, it was generally not a good sign.
Liang Chen stood outside the study, hesitated for two seconds, and slowly stepped inside.
The study hasn’t changed much over the years. One wall is lined with an antiquated redwood bookcase. Books of all sorts fill the shelves. Behind the desk hangs a large sign with four characters: Stick to Strict Discipline.
Liang Zhoutian and Liang Yuan seemed to be discussing something in low voices. Liang Zhoutian appeared as usual until he heard the footsteps. Looking up and seeing Liang Chen, his face suddenly darkened. As he interrupted Liang Yuan, he raised his hand, pointed at the door, and commanded, “Close the door.”
Liang Yuan didn’t say anything, but quickly walked to the door and closed it.
Liang Zhoutian was silent, but his eyes fixed on Liang Chen. After his intense gaze had scrutinized Liang Chen from head to toe, he finally said in a stern voice, “Liang Chen, what on earth have you done this time?”
Liang Chen took a deep breath, all while not sure what his father might know about his affairs with Jing Haohao. Nor was he certain how his father knew about the CD in his safe. So he chose to ignore his father’s question, looking straight back at him, “Dad, I’m getting married the day after tomorrow. Liang Yuan took away my fiancée, and the invitations have already been sent out. If there is no bride on the day, does that mean I have to get married alone? Wouldn’t that make me a laughingstock?”
“You ungrateful brat!” roared Liang Zhoutian. With a sweep of his hand, he knocked everything on the desk to the floor. Glaring at Liang Chen and thinking about what Liang Yuan had told him about Jing Haohao, he felt a surge of fury rising in his chest. He raised his hand, pointing at Liang Chen’s nose and growled, “Liang Chen, you’ve got quite audacity, are you tired of living or is your brain damaged? You are a disgrace to me. Instead of learning good things, you pick up all kinds of dubious habits. My son, you’ve truly done something grand! Forcing yourself on a woman, you’ve really honed your skills. You are utterly shameless!”
