?Chapter 522: Chapter 523: Forever Half Past Eight (7)_1 Chapter 522: Chapter 523: Forever Half Past Eight (7)_1 Jing Haohao stared at Liang Yuan for two seconds before reaching out to take the report. She immediately looked at the HCG index, only to find it much lower than the index of her first and second pregnancy check-ups that Liang Chen had given her.
Jing Haohao understood what this meant.
Her gaze became somewhat flustered, and she subconsciously raised her hand to cover her belly.
Had she not been pregnant all along? But why had she been vomiting a while ago, and why was her HCG index high? Moreover, the results of her pregnancy stick tests were clearly positive.
Had Liang Chen fooled her? Or had it been Liang Yuan?
Liang Yuan watched Jing Haohao’s panicked eyes with a calm gaze. A smile lurked at the corners of his lips as he raised his wrist, glanced at the time, and said, “I contacted Doctor Zhang this afternoon to come here and give you a check-up in person. He should be here by now. Let’s go see him.”
Liang Yuan remained calm in his standing posture, eyes fixed on Jing Haohao.
After a good while, Jing Haohao turned around and just like they did when they came from the villa, Liang Yuan courteously held the umbrella up for her.
As they entered the villa, Liang Yuan went ahead to open the door for Jing Haohao himself.
Before they could even step inside, Nanny Lin hurried out and said, “Mr. Yuan, Miss Jing, I was about to look for you. Doctor Zhang is here. He said he would give Miss Jing a medical check-up.”
“I specifically asked him to come and give Miss Jing a check-up, since the wedding is the day after tomorrow, just in case any accidents should occur,” Liang Yuan said politely. The whole time, he treated Jing Haohao as if she were family, not letting slip any indication of the serious discussion he’d just had with her.
Jing Haohao knew Liang Yuan was hiding the truth from Nanny Lin to prevent her from notifying Liang Chen.
Once they were inside the room, Liang Yuan showed no inclination to leave Jing Haohao, and he directly addressed Doctor Zhang sitting on the sofa: “Uncle Zhang, let’s go upstairs.”
Then he looked at Jing Haohao and said, “Miss Jing, please.”
…
The bedroom on the second floor was very quiet.
Liang Yuan dismissed Nanny Lin and the other servants and casually settled onto the sofa.
Doctor Zhang took a slim needle and drew some blood from Jing Haohao. He placed it in the portable device he had brought along, performed a simple check, and then printed a sheet of readings which he handed over to Liang Yuan.
However, Liang Yuan didn’t accept it, but rather looked at Jing Haohao seated beside him and said, “Give it to Miss Jing.”
Doctor Zhang passed it to Jing Haohao.
Jing Haohao stared at the sheet in front of her with her hands hanging by her sides. After about a minute, she finally reached out and took it. Her gaze fell flatly upon the sheet, where her HCG levels showed no difference from normal, causing her face to pale even further.
So, she really wasn’t pregnant, just as Liang Yuan had said.
But what about the test paper from yesterday? Jing Haohao looked at Liang Yuan. Seeing her inner doubts, Liang Yuan smiled slowly. Ignoring her question, he directed his gaze to Doctor Zhang and said, “Uncle Zhang, thank you for coming today. I hope you could not tell Chen about this afternoon’s events for the time being.”
Having said that, Liang Yuan stood up and saw Doctor Zhang to the door.
Liang Yuan did not descend to the first floor, but ordered Nanny Lin to see off Doctor Zhang from the second floor.
Through the open door, Jing Haohao heard Nanny Lin ask softly, “Is Miss Jing’s health okay?”
Doctor Zhang replied, “There’s nothing serious with Miss Jing’s health. The baby is also normal.”
