?Chapter 468: Chapter 469 Stomach Cancer (3)_1 Chapter 468: Chapter 469 Stomach Cancer (3)_1 However, the rain seemed to be deliberately opposing Liang Chen, growing heavier by the minute. An entire hour had passed, but there wasn’t the slightest indication that it was going to stop.
Jing Haohao, in her hotel room, was reading her script as usual. Through the window, she could hear the sounds of the wind, rain and thunder outside. She occasionally glanced outside, noting that the weather showed no signs of improvement, her thoughts inevitably drawn to Liang Chen, whom she had left downstairs.
Jing Haohao became somewhat restless, resulting in the entire hour spent reading her script being in vain as she could not remember a single line.
Throwing away her script, she walked toward the window and glanced at the still harsh weather outside. She reached out to open the window, hoping to see if Liang Chen’s car was still down below. However, a gust of wind, combined with the rain, rushed in, splashing her in the face.
Jing Haohao quickly closed the window, took a towel, and dried her face.
After standing at the window for a while, Jing Haohao changed into dry clothes and picked up her script again. But she couldn’t focus, so she quickly put on the jacket lying on her bed, grabbed an umbrella and her script, and walked out of her room.
Jing Haohao took the elevator down to the first floor. Through the glass, she saw Liang Chen’s car parked quietly by the side of the street, engine off. She ran to the entrance, opened her umbrella, and ran out.
The accumulation of rainwater on the ground was deep, and regardless of her umbrella’s protection, the short distance had soaked half of her body.
Jing Haohao hastily opened the car door, bending over to get inside. She then threw her wet umbrella out the window. With one gust of wind, in the blink of an eye, the umbrella rolled away.
Liang Chen, who was resting against his seat and boredly listening to the radio, felt his car door being opened. He turned his head abruptly and saw Jing Haohao sitting next to him, twisting the hem of her skirt.
“Why did you come down?” Liang Chen asked, quickly grabbing a towel from the back seat and throwing it to Jing Haohao. Then, he adjusted the car’s air conditioning from cool to warm.
Jing Haohao pointed to her slightly damp script, wiped the rainwater off her body, and said, “Xian’er is sleeping, and I didn’t want to disturb her, so I came down to read my script.”
Liang Chen turned on the car light and turned off the radio.
Except for the rain, there was no other sound.
Jing Haohao flipped open her script and read it carefully. The lines she couldn’t remember after reading for half the day in her room strangely came naturally to her now. In less than half an hour, Jing Haohao had recited the entire text without missing a word.
She rubbed her tired brow, saw that the heavy rain did not show any signs of stopping, lowered her head, pretended that she hadn’t finished, and continued reading her script.
By the time Jing Haohao recited the lines for the next three days, it was already midnight. The heavy rain continued, and Jing Haohao, tired from the effort of memorizing, leaned her head against the seat. It looked like she was reading her script, but her eyelids were involuntarily closing.
Liang Chen remained silent, sitting next to her. He seemed indifferent, but he was always watching Jing Haohao through the rearview mirror.
Seeing that Jing Haohao was too tired to keep her eyes open, he wanted to remind her to go back and sleep.
