Chapter 429 - 429 430 Meeting (2)_1

?Chapter 429: Chapter 430: Meeting (2)_1 Chapter 429: Chapter 430: Meeting (2)_1 Everyone chatters and debates for a while before dispersing to return to their work.

Jin puckers her lips and begins speaking after thoughtful consideration. Because her education level isn’t high, whenever Jin thinks of idioms, she’s never completely sure and always lifts her head to ask Jing Haohao.

But when she looks up, she sees Jing Haohao squatting on the ground, picking up shards of glass, staring blankly. Drops of bright red fluid follow her fingertips, spilling onto the white lotion on the ground.

The sight of the red blood mixing with the pristine white startles Jin. She drops her phone abruptly and dashes over to Jing Haohao asking, “Haohao, why is your hand bleeding?”

Jing Haohao comes back to her senses, pale. “I’m fine,” she insists.

Having said that, she continues to pick up the shattered glass from the ground. In the process, a shard cuts another gash in her hand. She winces but simply shrugs it off and continues picking up the shards.

“Haohao, stop doing that. Let me do it. You need to check your hand to see if there are any leftover glass shards,” Jin advises.

As she speaks, Jin hoists Jing Haohao off the ground, shoves a tissue into her hand, and swiftly bends down to clean up the mess on the floor.

Jing Haohao pinches her bleeding finger, waiting for it to stop. She wipes the blood off her hand with a wet tissue. Then, she pulls out her phone from her pocket and starts browsing through a news article.

The news confirmed what Jin had read earlier. The full details of the woman in the photo would be released tomorrow morning at eight.

Everyone was frantically commenting, eagerly waiting.

Jing Haohao looks at the number of comments, already more than a million.

Everyone knows… she muses.

Jing Haohao appears somewhat abstracted.

“What are you thinking about?” Jin pats Jing Haohao on the shoulder and moves closer to peek at Jing Haohao’s phone. Noticing the photo, she scrutinizes it and says, “Even though we can only see her mouth and chin, she does look like a stunning beauty. But who knows? If her eyes aren’t pretty, then it’s meaningless. But there’s no doubt that you’re prettier, Haohao…”

After finishing her sentence, Jin turns to look at Jing Haohao. Her sentence trails off, and she stares at Jing Haohao for a long time. Her expression turns strange. After a while, Jin cannot contain her curiosity and finally says, “Strange, Haohao, why do I feel like you look exactly like the woman in the photo?”

Jin’s words startle Jing Haohao so much that she quickly turns around and laughingly denies it. “That can’t be. It must be a coincidence,” she retorts.

“Really?” Jin tilts her head, nibbling her fingertip in thought. “Haohao, the first time I saw you, I felt you looked incredibly familiar as if I’d seen you somewhere before. You’re so beautiful, Haohao. Are you sure you’re not a celebrity?”

Jing Haohao’s heart sinks. Although she has acted in many TV dramas, she often played insignificant roles that were easily forgotten. She rarely appeared in the news and therefore, wasn’t particularly well-known. Could it be that Jin had recognized her?

“But then again, if you were a major celebrity, why would you come to our tiny town?”

Jin pats Jing Haohao on the shoulder, “Haohao, you’re so good, you would never get involved in a sex scandal like this,” she reassures.

Jing Haohao musters a nod, clutching her phone with a death grip.
