Chapter 411 - 411 412 Finding for Me (10)_1
?Chapter 411: Chapter 412 Finding for Me (10)_1 Chapter 411: Chapter 412 Finding for Me (10)_1 The second day after Liang Chen made the phone call, he received news.
“Mr. Liang, all I can confirm right now is that Miss Jing is no longer in Jiangshan City. As for where she has gone, I may need to contact people in other places for information.”
No longer in Jiangshan City… the place where his influence is most pervasive, and she is no longer there.
“However, Mr. Liang, rest assured, as long as she is still in this world, be it alive or dead, I promise to devote every effort to help you find her. If there’s nothing else, I will hang up now.”
After hanging up the phone, Liang Chen stood stunned at the floor-to-ceiling window of his office, staring out at the grayish sky. His heart felt as heavy as the overcast day.
She had been gone for two days and three nights. There was no news so far, and she has sealed off all her tracks that he had no traces to follow.
She was carrying so much cash, if someone saw it and harbored evil intentions… The image of Jing Haohao being murdered and her bloody body lying in a desolate place immediately flashed into Liang Chen’s mind. He shook himself, sternly warning himself not to think wildly, just staring blankly out of the window.
After an unknown period of time, someone knocked at the office door, but Liang Chen made no response.
Miss Su gently pushed open the door. The room was unusually quiet, and her boss stood motionless in front of the floor-to-ceiling window.
From behind, he looked especially gentle, but she didn’t know if it was her illusion, but she thought she saw a hint of loneliness in her boss.
Miss Su gently cleared her throat and cautiously said, “Mr. Liang.”
If it had not been for Liang Chen’s slightly moving figure, Miss Su would have thought that he had not heard her speak at all.
“I wanted to remind you that you have a lunch appointment at half past twelve.”
“Hmm.” Liang Chen responded. He glanced at the time. It was already twelve o’clock. After a moment of thought, he turned around and went into the bedroom behind the office. He put on a new suit, groomed himself, and, as usual, left to attend the luncheon looking immaculate and graceful.
The lunch was amicable with plenty of toasts.
The fragrant aroma of the top-grade Longjing tea was poured out by a waitress wearing a high-split qipao.
The whole room was filled with the aroma of wine, tea, and food.
Liang Chen had been in business for so long, he had gotten used to such socializing and courtesy, but today, he felt somewhat exhausted. The people around him were chattering nonstop, but he could not make out what they were saying.
Finally, the banquet ended. Liang Chen, who usually handled such situations with ease, let out a long sigh of relief. He boarded his car, dragging his slightly weary body.
He hadn’t drunk much, but the wine in his stomach kept turning. He suppressed his nausea, leaned back in his seat, and closed his eyes.
At three o’clock in the afternoon, Miss Su called to inform him that there was a meeting at three-thirty.
Without even acknowledging her, he hung up the phone.
His gaze fixated on the car window began to blur. Suddenly, he saw a woman with long black hair and a yellow dress passing by. He instinctively pushed the car door open and chased after her. He grabbed her wrist, only to realize it was not Jing Haohao.
He stood stunned, releasing his grip, standing on the busy street, his spirits failing once again.
PS: I am currently arranging a meeting to view the cover of Prosperous Times and Flourishing Beauty. Any readers willing to pop out and leave a comment? There may be an additional update tonight. Would you prefer Liang Chen to meet Haohao sooner, or later?
