Chapter 341 - 341 342 Search (4)_1
?Chapter 341: Chapter 342 Search (4)_1 Chapter 341: Chapter 342 Search (4)_1 Jing Haohao didn’t know how long she had been walking, only that each step became heavier and her body colder, almost as if she were going to turn into a block of ice. Suddenly, sounds of laughter reached her ears. She stopped, followed the sound, and saw through the fence of a villa two children of about five or six years old, each holding fireworks, running and playing in the snow.
The bright clothes they wore were a perfect match for the Spring Festival, and they seemed carefree with their beautifully absurd fireworks.
After playing for a while, a couple approached and called for them to come inside to sleep. The children dropped the burnt-out fireworks and, shouting “Mom and Dad,” threw themselves into their parents’ arms.
The couple picked up their children, kissed their cheeks, and looked absolutely content.
The sight was beautiful and moving.
Instantaneously, Jing Haohao froze in place, staring at the scene until the couple and their children disappeared into the villa. She stood there, still lost in thought.
What she had just witnessed was the future she anticipated.
All she wanted was to find someone suitable and live a simple, peaceful life.
Never did she hope to be superior or become someone else’s phoenix. But such a simple wish was denied by fate.
She didn’t know how long he would keep her captive. A year, two years, five years, ten years?
A woman’s youth is fleeting. If she really had to wait for ten years, would there be any happiness left when she had aged?
She didn’t understand why Liang Chen had chosen her.
She also didn’t understand why Liang Chen insisted on keeping her by his side. Once she lived for herself, but now she seemed to be living solely to amuse him.
The tragedy was, by the end, she no longer had the determination to drive into a bridge pylon which would end her life.
Even having been on the brink of death once, she found that she had started to fear dying.
Jing Haohao couldn’t figure out why she had suddenly become so sad and desperate. She felt as though she were standing in an endless darkness, air tight and impenetrable, without the slightest ray of light.
Even a tiny bit…just a tiny bit, would keep her from feeling so desperate.
…
Liang Chen dared not drive too fast, fearing that he might accidentally miss Jing Haohao. Once he turned on the heater, the windows would fog up. He decided to lower the windows, slowly driving the car, and looking around for Jing Haohao.
The wind swirled through the windows into the car, bringing with it snowflakes, making Liang Chen’s hands, which gripped the steering wheel, and face feel ice-cold.
Liang Chen regretted more and more that he had left her outside in such cold weather. What if something happened…
Liang Chen didn’t dare to think any further, but he anxiously searched for Jing Haohao, inch by inch along the street.
After a while, Liang Chen saw a figure standing aimlessly in the distance. He slightly accelerated and cast the headlights onto it, only to discover it was Jing Haohao.
Her hair and clothes were covered with snowflakes. She stood in the snow, staring at someone else’s villa like a statue.
