?Chapter 167: Chapter 168: Confrontation (3)_1 Chapter 167: Chapter 168: Confrontation (3)_1 “Mr. Liang, there’s nothing planned for the remaining ten minutes of this morning. But at three o’clock in the afternoon, we have a high-level meeting.”

Liang Chen nodded and said, “Okay, call the front desk now and ask Mr. Shen to come up.”

“Yes, Mr. Liang.”

It hadn’t been ten minutes since the secretary went out when the office door was gently knocked again. Liang Chen said, “Come in.”

The door was pushed open by the secretary, who courteously said, “Mr. Shen, please come in.”

Liang Chen, seeing Shen Liangnian, immediately stood up from his chair, a smile on his face. He looked no different than usual, as if he was greeting a friend, casually saying, “Mr. Shen, what brings you all the way here today?”

In the past, Shen Liangnian always greeted Liang Chen with a polite smile. But today, facing Liang Chen’s warm welcome, he just pursed his lips and stared in silence.

Liang Chen noticed the questioning in Shen Liangnian’s eyes but didn’t seem to mind. He pointed his chin towards his secretary and said, “Go get two cups of coffee.”

Once the secretary had left, Liang Chen walked around his desk, pointed to a sofa, and said, “Have a seat. Why so formal with me?”

Shen Liangnian remained standing, his gaze fixed on Liang Chen without blinking.

He must have been up all night; his eyes were bloodshot, and his chin was scruffy.

Liang Chen did not mind his indifference. His smile deepened, and he said nonchalantly, “Where have you just come from? Don’t tell me you were up to no good with Cong Rong last night.”

After saying this, Liang Chen walked leisurely to the sofa, sat down arrogantly, leaned back slightly, and looked at Shen Liangnian. “You’re not really going to leave me standing while we talk, are you?”

Only then did Shen Liangnian take a seat opposite Liang Chen.

“What brings you here today?” Liang Chen asked.

Before Shen Liangnian had a chance to speak, there was a knock at the office door. The secretary came in with two coffees and then quickly withdrew, discreetly closing the door behind him.

Liang Chen picked up his coffee and took a sip, saying, “Try it. This is authentic Blue Mountain coffee straight from the Jamaica Blue Mountain Farm. It’s not on the same level as the stuff sold in the market – it tastes excellent.”

“Mr. Liang, I want to talk to you about Haohao…”

Before Shen Liangnian finished speaking, Liang Chen’s face sobered. He gazed at Shen Liangnian, his expression hardly changed, but his eyes were filled with an undercurrent of coldness. “Liangnian, don’t tell me you’re going to insult me like that. I don’t just offer this coffee to anyone.”

Shen Liangnian pursed his lips, picked up the cup, and took a sip.

Just as Liang Chen said, it was truly authentic Blue Mountain coffee. The coffee was fragrant and smooth on the palate, but he had little time to savor this delicacy. He quickly put down his cup, looked straight at Liang Chen, and said, “Chen, we’ve known each other for two or three years. We often hung out together because of Cong Rong. Over the years, I’ve asked you for favors in a formal context. Now, I am begging you…”

Shen Liangnian swallowed hard and said, “Leave Haohao alone.”
