Chapter 1207: A Different Vampire
When Kai and Gary had returned to the Wolf’s Pool Club, they found that Austin had finally managed to get some sleep on the back red couches. He was snoring rather loudly, with his arm hanging down, almost brushing the floor.
It had to have been an exhausting day for him, and not just for him, it was the same for the other two. It was around midday now, and when sitting down, it didn’t take long for both Gary and Kai to fall asleep on several other back seats that were placed in the room.
When Miss Degrace had entered to open up the place, she had quickly turned the sign to state that they would be closed for the day, wanting them to get as much rest as possible.
“These kids have completely changed Slough, and in a lot of ways, they seem to be shaping the country as well as the road. So, they should at least be able to sleep for a while,” Miss Degrace thought as she carried on her duties as she usually would, only leaving the noisy parts of running the business till later.
As it got close to evening, Miss Degrace had gone downstairs to do a stock count of inventory. Then she would order more products for the business. She took the job seriously, even though it didn’t matter how much the business brought in or not.
But it had somewhat become her joy, she liked that it was a safe place for her daughter as well as the rest of the Howlers to hang out in.
Upstairs, the door was locked, so she thought all would be fine. While downstairs, she had no idea what had taken place above. The lock had been skillfully picked, and two men in all black clothing had entered.
The dark sky was seen behind them for a brief second, but their red glowing eyes was what caught their attention.
“These are the people the king has chosen, and they’re sleeping just like this even though we are in front of them,” the woman said, curling her tongue. “They aren’t going to be any help at all, I can see that at first glance.”
“They might seem that way,” the man next to her said. “But believe me, they manage to pull through. Don’t let your biases get ahead of you. You should have heard the report, whether you believe it’s exaggerated or not, the king has asked us to do this.”
The two decided to walk over, and begin to move over to the green-haired man. A few creaks in the wooden floorboards were heard and had caught the attention of Kai, who was flicking his eyes open.
He rubbed them a few times, as he could only see the back of the two intruders.
“Gary, Austin, trouble!” Kai shouted.
Gary opened his eyes as he heard the sound, he was still a bit groggy. As for Austin, he had jumped up, and could see the two of them straight away.
