?Chapter 113: Chapter 112: Accident (Second update asking for collection)_1 Chapter 113: Chapter 112: Accident (Second update asking for collection)_1 Yue Qiao’s home was not located within downtown B City, but rather in a civilian housing area just outside it.

The affluent Yang Yuebin and Zhou Yicen were entering this kind of neighborhood, quite possibly for the first time in their lives. Amidst their curiosity, they followed Yue Qiao into the building, trying to hold their heads high under her chilly gaze.

They claimed to be there to help carry things, but in reality, they simply wanted to compare Yue Qiao’s everyday surroundings with their own.

However, Yang Yuebin still brought along numerous quality items from his own purchases because he regarded it as a matter of basic courtesy not to show up at someone’s home for the first time empty-handed.

Ye Xiwen found the men more pleasant company than she expected for wealthy gentlemen. She could now see why Mu Lin got along with them so well.

Even though she had only been around Mu Lin for a week, and they had hardly spoken, this did not imply that she disliked him. It was indisputable that Mu Lin was a good person.

Nobody knew it, but at that moment, even though Mu Lin was not present, he seemed to be the bridge that was drawing the two groups of people, who had been strictly separate, slightly closer together.

Throughout the journey, seeing several soldiers, citizens of the housing complex could not help but cast curious glances. After seeing Yue Qiao leading the pack, they were undoubtedly surprised. Along the way, both the familiar faces and strangers found it irresistible to offer Yue Qiao greetings.

“Wow, Qiao, it seems like you’re quite popular,” Ye Xiwen admiringly exclaimed. She wouldn’t have guessed it; after all, Yue Qiao usually seemed so aloof.

Yue Qiao stayed silent and continued walking straight ahead, not reacting particularly to the many greetings. Only she knew that, aside from a few houses nearby, people here had never particularly cared for her family. This apparent sudden love was simply due to the military uniform she was wearing, and to the entourage of young gentlemen behind her.

Folks in this rural area are clever and observant enough to instantly realize, be it Ye Xiwen, Yang Yuebin, or their companions, that these new faces are no ordinary people.

With their different backgrounds come different dispositions and conducts. Anyone in their group would stand out in a crowd of average people.

But then, what does it matter? Even if they are extraordinary, even if they are wealthy, how does that concern the locals?

Yue Qiao’s home was the furthest house inside the civilian housing area, a legacy from her Grandpa. As the group approached the door, they noticed a crowd of worried, yet also spectator-like faces near it. The group quickly followed Yue Qiao as she broke into a run.

“Uncle Yun,” Yue Qiao called out, as she saw a middle-aged man rushing from around the corner.

“Oh, Little Qiao, when did you get back?” asked Uncle Yun, his eyes instinctively falling on Yue Qiao’s military uniform.

“I carved out some time to visit and bring back some things for Granny. What’s going on?” She noticed his urgent demeanor and the crowd around her home.

Upon hearing Yue Qiao’s question, Uncle Yun finally recalled, and then said, with a worried expression, “Little Qiao, your Granny… there’s been an accident.” He sighed in relief that she was here now.

WHAT!

Upon hearing Uncle Yun’s words, Yue Qiao dropped everything and sprinted towards the house. Uncle Yun followed on sighing, heading inside after her.

Ye Xiwen turned to glance at Yang Yuebin and the others, picked up the fallen items and quickly followed inside.
