Chapter 181: From all Corners
Chapter 181: From all Corners
"Have a seat there" Zaldris pointed Leon a table in the center of the grassland. Just like the others, it was wide and long with several people seated all around it.
"Hmm" Leon walked towards the table with Arian and Ember shadowing him. These were two level 3 mages!!! Even though warlocks dispised them, the power of a level 3 mage couldn’t be taken lightly.
How on heavens earth was this guy being shadowed by these powerful females?
Naturally, not everyone here could see that Leon himself was a level 3 warlock. But those who did, understood that there was something special about this kid.
"Outer clan trash" back at the table, the young man whom had attacked Ember sneered in dissatisfaction.
He was a genius of the clan and a sentinel of the enforcement unit. But he couldn’t even punish a random kid from the boonies because of some stupid clan politics.
"Don’t worry brother Sith, these guys can only do so much before the higher ups come to their senses" Opposite the young man, another with blood red hair spoke in a relaxing tone.
The lower ranked individuals of the clan had been facing the pressure of the influx of new members alone. They saw it first hand how the outer clan members were taking away all they had.
And all the higher ups had to say was ’,competition is good within the clan; but they knew that sooner or later they would see their plight.
"Welcome!!! The honored sword of the clan, The upholder of justice, the High Arbiter of bloodserpent clan!!!!"
From nowhere, and strangely everywhere, a voice resounded causing everyone to look around in a hurried fashion.
The announcement said that High Arbiter had appeared, but where was he? They looked around but couldn’t find a trace of him.
Until
"There!!!" A young man pointed at a table infront with his left hand.
There, a figure cloaked in black with red fingernails and a face as pale as a dead person’s stood on thin air.
Malphas Greyback
The High Arbiter.
"Settle down" with a smirk on his face, the High Arbiter said before floating to the High table and sitting.
"So menacing....." one of the enforcer commented.
The High Arbiter wasn’t some adored individual in the clan. No, he was the exact opposite. He was the embodiment of fear In the bloodserpent clan.
Ruthless and uncaring. As long as he deems that you have committed a crime, there was no saving you. Even the clans Supreme leader couldn’t do anything to force the high Arbiter to change his ruling.
This was how much power this man who made himself readily available had.
"That’s the guy?" Leon stared at the high Arbiter with knitted brows. This guys aura was not so different from Alaric’s. The aura of a man who had seen countless battles and struggles and come out of each on top.
A truly ficious fighter.
"Hmm?" As Leon looked at him from afar, the High Arbiters gaze also fell unto Leon’s figure.
"Alduwin boy," he spoke within his breath, but as his lips moved, Leon was able to recognise that he had just called his surname.
This stunned him for a minute. At first, he truly thought that this meeting was meant for him, but upon getting here and seeing the sheer number of level 3 warlocks, he couldn’t help but shelf that idea.
This was definitely not about him alone.
Leon’s presumption was right. The High Arbiter had been looking for an excuse to host some of the outer clan members inside the clan for a while, but nothing really came up.
Fortunately, a talent that could use both attributes of the bloodserpent clan had popped up. So he had the excuse to do something to draw him in.
—cing, cing, cing.
The sound if glass hitting metal resounded as the High Arbiter stood up with a wine glass in his left hand.
"Today, we host our brothers and sisters from other branches of the clan. Long have we been departed, but the blood in our veins run thick and our bond is forever strong. In this time of need, fate has brought us together to face our enemies. And we will do just that" with a creepy smile on his face, the High Arbiter gave a toast to everyone.
The lower ranked individuals of the main clan weren’t welcoming to outer clan members because they didn’t quite understand what was going on In the outside world.
They didn’t know what it felt like to be hunted down by those who seek to enslave them, and they had no idea that those people would still eventually come to them. It was but a matter of time, they needed the reinforcements.
"To brotherhood and bloodline" the High Arbiter raised his glass and all others followed.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
"Really?" Seated beside Zaldris, Leon raised in brows in intrigue.
"Yes of course, look at that one of there....he’s called blood Maniac Mordrid. He’s from a small clan west of eldoria, in white mountain kingdom. Level 3 at the age of 27 and an absolute monster in battle"
"Over there we have silent blade Qian....also from a small clan in the Undergod territory.....from his name, you can probably already infer that he’s a skilled assassin. Just like you level 3 at a young age....24"
Zaldris introduced Leon to others on the same table as him. Apparently, all of them were young talents like him from small clans like theirs in eldoria. But had fled their lands because of prosecution.
This gathering was meant for them. It was like a requirement into the clan.
"That’s interesting" with a slight nod, Leon took a sip of wine while scanning the area. There were alot of talents here and he could tell not because of what the old man told him.
No
When Leon stepped upon the path of a sorcerer, he gain thw ability to sense the soul strength of the people around. soul strength equaled talent.
And from the looks of it, those from the outter clan were much more talented than those in the main clan, Abiet being weaker in actual power.
However, none of them could compare to one person in this gathering.
The High Arbiter.
The amount of soul energy this guy emitted was incredibly. He looked sickly as a person, but the energy he emitted was scary as hell.
(He can’t be a sorcerer right?)
Leon mused with a tinge of fear, he really hated those guys, if the High Arbiter had somehow embarked on the path of sorcery he would probably know Leon had too.
This would definitely bring issues as the High Arbiter would be just as if not more powerful than the one he faced in eldoria.
"Hehe, they can’t compare to you though, a level 3 warlock at 17 with a dual attribute Site exclusive to the clans....you, kid are special" Zaldris said with a big smile.
He and the other Arbiters had been given the duty of grooming talents of the clan. Some chose to focus on main clan memebers and some like him didn’t have a preference.
As long as one was powerful enough, they would qualify for him.
"Hehe, you jest" Leon smiled.
He didn’t want to be under anyone in truth, but he did want the clans backing. One would say this was selfish thinking.....but didn’t Leon warrant such exceptions?
He had, under one and half years done what others couldn’t for 20+ years of their entire lives.
He was a level 3 warlocks with dual attribute types, he could control negative energy, mana and soul energy and he was just 17.
Not to talk about his other trump cards. If Leon wanted, he could probably Hold of the high Arbiter for a short period of time. Or at least escape his onslaught.
"Hmm, the gentleman here would like to propose some entertainment Sire"
From within the crowd, a man stood up with his glass of wine and said.
"Hm?"
The crowd looked over with a frown.
This guy....
Gion was a member of the high Arbiters elite guardsmen. He like the other Arbiters was at the very peak of level 3, but he chose the part of battle rather than that one administration.
However, his closeness to the High Arbiter made it complicated when he spoke because for some reason his words were always in line with the Arbiters plans
"What do you mean old friend?" The High Arbiter feigned ignorance and asked with a confused look on his face.
"A sparing match Sire, between two or three members of our main clan. To show the outer clansman how things are done here in the main clan.... " with a thrilling and joyful smile, the Gion said to the High Arbiter.
"But of course, it is just a suggestion....its all up to them"
He was clearly egging them on, he wanted a fight and so did the High Arbiter. But they wouldn’t say it outright.
The little ones had to agree to fight on their own volition.
