Chapter 170: Untitled
"F*ck!!!" With his hand on his head, Leon complained.
He had just been sucked through a hole and brought to the fourth level of the library. It was too abrupt though so he had hit his head on the floor.
Thankfully, Leon had a hard skull a benefit of him being a level 3 warlock was his exceptionally hard skull.
"Ouch" While running his head Leon’s eyes fell upon a fresh body with a snapped neck. It seemed like he wasn’t the only one to go down this rabbit hole.
He was just lucky.
"What is this place?" Leon looked around. There were no shelf or books, the light was minimal, but more luminous than the 3 level
...plus this area gave off a gloomy vibe
As Leon looked around his eyes slowly panned to the middle of the room where a pedestal stood with the one and only book in their entire space.
Leon eyes squinted as he stood up from the ground and slowly approached the book. While doing so, a purple smoke picked up all around him and started to fill the room.
But Leon didn’t notice it just yet....he walked all the way to the front of the book and stopped.
"This....." Leon frowned at the book, it emitted an energy that was quite familiar to Leon.
Negative energy.
Meanwhile
In the top floor of the library, a fierce battle had broken out, with those who visited the library going up against the old level 5 existences henchmen.
They had tried to leave peacefully, but the staff wouldn’t let them go, so they had to fight their way out.
"So he sent you to take care of me?....interesting" looking down at the new arrival from the booth at the top of the library, the level 5 existence with the third eye said loudly.
"Naturally, I wouldn’t come here otherwise" the Lightening Monk looked up and said clearly indicating that he knew this man in the booth.
These two were level 5 existences, being that couldn’t be trifled with even in the three territories. To have two such existences in a room was a rare sight.
"He really looks down on me to send a kid. Even in this weakened state I’m still a lord under heaven!!!" For the first time in a long time the level 5 existence got angry. He had been holding this in for a while now, they dared to send a kid to go after him?
What bigger disrespect was there than that?
"Hehe, that title means nothing here," shaking his head the lightening monk streched his left arm out and pronounced.
"Morgrath of the Abssyal plain, you have committed crimes against the people of this land. And for that, I sentence you to death"
the Lightening Monk brimed with confidence, he believed in his ability to take down this foe, in fact it was like a test for him.
"Good!!!! Let’s begin then" the old man named morgrath said with spite.
He wasn’t some random person that could be trampled upon. He had lived for many lifetimes and his time here was but a fraction of how long he had lived. For this kid to insinuate that he would meet his end here was ballsy at best.
With a flick of his fingers the bodies in the second and third floors of the library began to errode and decay realising a strange energy that flowed downwards to the fourth level where Leon was
Even with the provocation, he was still able to maintain his cool and do what he came here for. The book underneath the library was a treasure that could make the whole world shake if they knew what it was
Unfortunately, he couldn’t outrightly take it. He needed first to refine it, then and only then would he be able to take it out of here. So he had to work fast.
However, unknown to him, Leon who had a long history with negative energy was currently in the fourth level facing his beloved treasure with eyes of greed.
"This is amazing" Leon’s eyes glowed with bright light.
The book, whatever it was, was the true definition of a treasure. It held within it, more negative energy than even Leon could assess.
Recently, Leon had come upon the problem of replenishing the negative energy in badurs gate so he could use better attacks. But since he didn’t have a good source he could only put off this....
Fortunately, he had come upon a solution. This book before him.
—Boom!!!!!!
Before he could assess the situation though, the sound of a battle erupting sounded in his ear causing Leon to look right above.
Although he was covered by a vail of energy Leon could see clearly that a battle between two existences of incredible might had begun to fight.
"Hehe, are level 5 existences so cheaply found?" Leon shook his head.
Only a level 5 existence could fight another, so it wasn’t hard to guess what was going on at the top. But was it so easy to see level 5 existences? Talk less of watching them engage in a battle?
In eldoria, just one level 5 existence was able to topple the entire kingdom, but in the Undergod territory, two were here hashing it out like it was nothing.
"Sigh, I need to be fast" Leon shook his head and focused on the book infront of him.
He didn’t know this, but what was happening at the top of the library was not common at all. In fact, level 5 existences would rarely appear in the Undergod territory on a normal day.
This was a very rare case.
"Come here" Leon reached forward and grabbed the book with his bare hands. This was a big mistake.
Because, as soon as he laid his hands on the book...
—reeeeeeee
A shock wave of negative energy was sent through Leon’s hands forcing him to Grint his teeth and pull back.
"What the hell" Leon looked confused, he was extremely advanced in the manipulation of negative energy....but this treasure was able to overwhelm him?
(This can’t be right, what the hell are you?)
Leon’s eyes remained squinted as he watched the book before him.
—Boom
—Boom
But even though Leon had no choice but to stop, the battle happening at the top wouldn’t stop so easily.
"Hmmm, I think I know what’s going on here" Leon looked at the purple smoke congregated around him and nodded his head slightly.
The treasure, the library.....this seemingly inescapable trap....it was all the doings of the old level 5 existence. He was trying to refine the book before him.
(To tempt a level 5 existence....this book really must be something.)
The background of this book, if Leon knew would completely rock is world. It was an item belonging to the first individual to use negative energy in this world.
It was in this book that he studied and experimented on the concepts of fu shu energy usage.
In other words, this was the Grimoire of the primogenitor of the fu shu energy users of this world.
"Sorry old man, I’ll have to take this one off your hands" Leon smiled and took in a large breath of air.
"Badur’s gates!!!!"
Behind him, an ominous gate slowly emerged from the void and stood strong behind him.
—Wang
Just a moment after it’s appearance, the book shook violently causing cracks to appear on the pedestal it was on.
"North Gate, South Gate, East Gate, West Gate....Open!!!"
After a brief moment of preparation, Leon called out again, but this time, the energy around Leon was next to react.
They started forming balls of smoke on each side of the room forming a cardinal diagram with Badur’s gates as the center.....Leon was able to control these energy masses because they were made from negative energy.
He was going to take the refining process by the horns and amplify it with the help of Badur’s gates to refine the Grimoire infront of him.
"Come here!!!"
Once again Leon streched his hand forward and grabbed the Grimoire with both hands forcing it to release negative energy into his very person.
However, Leon was prepared this time. With the help of badurs gates and the external negative energy supply Leon was able to fight back.
Slowly....extremely slowly.
Leon was determined though, he wouldn’t let himself fail.....so he kept on pushing and pushing, even when he started bleeding from his eye sockets Leon continued.
Until finally.
—Wooo
Leon was able to pull the Grimoire from the pedestal.
"Phewww!!!" Leon sighed in relief. He could bear the thought of leaving this treasure behind.
"Let’s keep you safe" Leon smirked while staring at the book....he then walked up to Badur’s gates and attempted to put it inside.
"Shitt!!"
To his Dismay, the Grimoire refused to go in . Badurs Gates and the Grimoire both opposed each other.
—Boom!!!!
"I don’t have time for this"
The battle was getting heated above Leon. So he had to leave now or else he would become cannon fodder.
"You’ll just have to stay here" Leon shifted his robes to the side and placed the Grimoire in a small bag at his side.
"Maximum effort"
Leon took then took in large breath of air before taking off his robes, revealing a crimson red amour of the most elegant make.
—Clang
Then he pulled out a helmet from thin air and placed it on his head.
"That’s still not enough"
If he wanted to get out of here without being killed, he needed bigger muscles.
"Angle descent: spirit of Carnage"
