Chapter 124: Prior engagement
Chapter 124: Prior engagement
"Ahhhh!!!"
With the swing of a massive cleaver sword, blood splattered into the air and landed on the face of a young man with white hair and bright blue eyes.
"Nice" the young man smirked before cleaning his face with his sweat infested arm.
The young man stood alone in a massive Hall shirtless and surrounded by corpses. It would seem to any passers-by like these corpses had been claimed by the young man.
And they would be right without a doubt.
"Useful....but not my type" the young lifted the gigantic sword over his head and shook his head. With the help of this weapon he had stolen from one of the soldiers here, he was able to wipe out the crowd bit by bit.
It was a masserce filled with bloodlust and rage....but this style, he didn’t particularly like it. following his comment the young man squatted down and impaled the cleaver into a corpse.
"Life devourer" the young man streched his hand forward and started swallowing the life energy emitting from the corpses.
Life energy nourished him, strengthen him.....made him whole, its essence, made him grow.

[Ding
Host has advanced to the peak of level 2
]
With one fell swoop, Leon advanced to the peak level 2 after clearing the first room of the duan royal Palace.
"Finally" the young man heaved with relief, he had been trying to clear this floor for a few weeks now and finally he was done...and at the end he received a beautiful surprise of entering the peak of level 2.
It was an indescribable feeling.
[ you are now recognised as a formal challenger of the royal treasure of eldoria-
Floor 1 cleared.
Opening floor 2
]
A majestic yet robotic voice resounded from the Palace automation.
The young man was none other that Leon.
"Hmmm.....might as well see what lays ahead" Leon smirked and began slowly walking forward towards the door standing in front of him.
He streched his hands forward and pushed the door open slowly.
"What the fuck?"
But what laid before him only made him curse in annoyance. It was troublesome beyond belief.
An armoured minator with a great ax over his shoulder.
"That’s something for another time." Leon shook his head and closed the door placing whatever was behing that door at the back of his mind.
"Congratulations once again" at the entrance to the first floor a lady in a white amour plate Congratulated Leon with a smile.
She had watched Leon go from a level 0 nothing to a peak level 2 magic user in less than a year. This was worth commending, god knows it took her much longer to achieve the same feat.
"You flatter me Ari, would you like to give the first floor go?" Leon smiled at Arian and asked. His improvement was good, but you could not hold anything against Arian over there.
She too was a monsterous talent....and with the help of this treasure that was the royal Palace she was able to touch the middle stages of level 3.
The difference between a level 2 and level 3 magic user was still the difference between night and day.....as such the advancement was just as hard.
"Not now, i still need some accumulations then I’ll clear it in one fell swoop" Arian shook her head and said. She just needed a little push, but the push would need to come at the right time with appropriate preparations. Only then will she feel at ease.
"Hmmm, okay" Leon nodded. He knew that the stronger one was the harder the challenges would become, but he knew that she understood too....there was no need for him to speak too much.
"Let’s go out then" Leon said to arian. He was tired and needed to take a cold bath after all that battling.
So they took the tunnel and made their way out to the faystone household.
There the faystone ancestor stood guard for Leon and the rest.
"I still can’t wrap my head around how you managed to tame such a beast" as the reached Arian spoke with some apprehension. She didn’t believe that Leon fully understood the monsterous power he had at hand.
This was a peak level 3 existence that was tuned to fight against sorcerers.....one of the most dreaded races in world...it was amazing that this creature was under Leon’s control.
"Hehe, wouldn’t you like to know" Leon walked forward without explaining....during the past few days Arian had become unusually talkative to him....it was weird but also refreshing.....she was on a normal day a block of ice.
At lease she was becoming warmer....but then again....Leon didn’t know if this was a good thing or not.
After all, she was the sin of Pride. What would happen if the embodiment of the sin of Pride becomes less prideful?
"Hm? What’s going on?" After taking a few steps outside the area Leon felt slight shock waves from the ground.
"I sense fighting.....at the entrance" Leon closed his eyes and said in unison with the faystone ancestor’s corspe.
The faystone ancestor had supreme control over everything that was in the mansion....it was his home field so of course he did.
"I’ll take you" Arian grabbed Leon by the arm and flew forward with Incredible Force.
—Boom!!!
"Fucking old fool, I’m here on invitation!!! I’m not looking for any trouble!!!"
Just In front of the faystone family households main gate, an older warlock with feathery wings on his back complained furiously.
He was sent here by a level 4 great warlock to deliver a message to his old friend leon..but of course he knew that the central City was unforgiving to warlocks, so be disguised himself as a worker moved forward with an infiltration into this household where he had noticed Arian flying into several times.
However, how would he know that there was a peak level 3 monster like Liana sitting here waiting for him?
"Filty warlock...you think this is thw undercity?" The tall man sneered a prepared to attack....he was now the guardian of this place and he wasn’t objected to it.
His daughter was here....Hail And healthy there was nowhere he would rather be. There was no way he would allow an enemy sneak in just like that.
"Is that you old bird?" All of a sudden before the fight could resume a voice resounded forcing them to stop and look over.
It was Leon and Arian.
"You know him?" Half-moon squinted his brows and asked.....actually it wasn’t completely out of place for a mage to have warlock friends. Even though it was largely frowned open...After all, this whole hatred was not more than a year old. Even more so since the both of them were previously unaffiliated.
But still....this wasn’t a good look.
"Hehe, let him go.....he’s not really a threat" Leon shook his head and said....actually there was nothing he could say to refute that this was strange.
"Hmm, be more careful with your dealings, this is the central City mind you" Half-moon warned before flying away to god knows where in the forest.
In the brief moment that he had interacted with Leon, he could tell that he didn’t want to speak about this topic, so he let him be.
Their contract involved him turning a blind eye to somethings he would see as long as it didn’t harm him or his daughter and the faceless mercenary company.
"Let’s go inside" Leon invited the winged devil to the main hall of the faystone mansion.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
"Is that so?" Witn squinted eyes, Leon asked while staring at the winged devil standing not too far.
He had just invited Leon to something surprising. Apparently, the soon to be level 5 warlock of the golden Griffin clan was planning to cause some trouble for the mages during the sky festival that was coming up soon. And Bartholomew wanted Leon to participate.
So he sent the winged devil here to invite Leon.
"It’s tempting I’m not going to lie...but I must decline" Leon after a few seconds of thinking shook his head and said.
An event like this would cause too much trouble for him and anyone participating in it and the only reward from it would be to tell the external power that would be present that a new power was raising I’m eldoria.
Leon didn’t think it wise to participate at this event. Especially with the fact that he too had an engagement to plan for.
The faceless mercenary company was being torn apart from the inside and to stop this from happening a show down of powers had been announced.
Leon had to seize the opportunity and place Half-moon at the helm of the faceless machinery company.
This was the plan he made with Damien and he would see it through, with a little twist.
