Chapter 89: Monster Truck
Chapter 89: Monster Truck
Unique blue-green eyes surveyed the scene outside her window, after settling back inside the relative safety of the car. She let herself have a breather before the imminent battle.
Fortunately, after a while, the zombies more or less dispersed after a couple of minutes, finally determined there wasn’t anything of worth in the car.
She took this time to observe the zombies.
There were about a hundred zombies outside, which was so many considering the location. She reckoned someone must’ve held a gathering or something.
Probably a rave, judging by their clothes. It was likely that the truck parked visible in the villa was a guest.
She heaved a sigh and continued to observe, thinking what she could do to get to that truck.
According to the book, Zombies were sensitive to sound, nothing else, so she only had to be very soundless if she wanted to get through this smoothly.
There was no magic here, so she couldn’t use spells like levitation or Invisibility. What she could do though was manipulate the supernatural elements in the air under her feet to lift herself by a few millimeters so no contact with the ground was made, thus no noise.
This was what she did, and it worked well. Sadly, she could sense about a good quarter of her abilities were eaten by that 100 meter ’walk’.
She reached the gates and soon saw the vehicle up close.
It was a gorgeous model similar to the Grave Digger—Kaize made her watch a monster truck show before—except it was a bit smaller and could easily fit a large house.
It had a very high chassis, had a massive size and large wheels. The engine was huge and powerful. It was estimated only buildings (or larger monster trucks) could be an obstacle.
Her already bright eyes shone even more. It was beautiful!

When Kaize said the zombies ought to worry about Khalifa more, he was not kidding.
The zombies truly ought to be afraid of Khalifa, as she ran over them with her horrific driving skills.
Squelch, blurb, spleckh!
Hey, because traffic rules were non-existent now, it could be said she was finally in her element behind the wheel.
She clutched the steering wheel, the rumbling of the engine reminding her of her newfound power. As she navigated, she found herself in one of the luxurious mansions.
As she drove out the exclusive village (hitting a couple of lamp posts and cars by the way), she then saw a blanket flag waving desperately from a window.
They were elegantly dressed but had a deep desperation in their eyes.
"HELPPPP! HELPPPP!" They yelled, naturally attracting the zombies below them.
It was fortunate the zombies couldn’t climb yet, but she could see the zombies crazily going to the source of their noise, adding up layer by layer. If they kept shouting, the zombies would get to them in a few hours.
Khalifa pursed her lips. To help or not to help?
They looked at her with desperation that it was pitiful, but they also looked annoyed when she didn’t respond.
They seemed like an annoying pair of mother and daughter. However, they also didn’t deserve death when they could be rescued.
Sigh. She really had a soft heart—not a good thing in times where people would soon start killing each other for a piece of bread.
Before going, ignoring the annoying screams, Khalifa took the time to look at the map once more. She saw that there was one of her containers on the way there. It was still early and there should still be some supplies in there.
If they annoyed her too much, she could just drop them off somewhere—whether they liked it or not.
Finally coming up with a decision, she reversed the vehicle, squishing a few more zombies, turned and went straight towards the gate.
BANG!
She then went forward and squished the zombies attracted by their screams. She did not go directly to the building but turned so the door side was parallel to the balcony.
"Run to me!" She yelled, pressing her horns to get the monster’s attention. She could see their mouths moving, expressing their disbelief.
Luckily for them Khalifa had already crushed most of the zombies in their area. Seeing as they were frozen, she went a bit closer parked near so they could access from the balcony but apparently not near enough.
"What?! You want me to jump there?!"
She rolled her eyes. "I’ll give you ten seconds or I’ll drive away."
"You must save us! You can’t possibly leave us two women alone."
"Ten… nine…"
The women looked at her in disbelief but had no choice but to jump over, screaming their hearts out.
It hurt her ears.
Was this really the correct decision? Would her ears bleed and kill her to death instead?
They were panting heavily and could hear their own heartbeats and looked at the girl. They knew they should be thankful but it wasn’t easy!
They saw a hooded girl with white hair wearing a facemask. The teenager couldn’t help but look at her strangely. "What are you? Cosplayer?"
Khalifa ignored her and resumed her rampage drive again, enticing the screams of the women.
She tried to endure for a while—really—but it soon became unbearable.
"So noisy! Keep quiet or I’ll throw you out!"
The two women shut their mouths, looking at each other with expressions looking like they were wronged.
This had nothing to do with Khalifa, who was now starting to enjoy driving.
She easily ignored the muffled screams of the women, drove as she needed and wanted. She was even humming.
In most circumstances, her humming would be beautiful and relaxing, but she was driving so horrendously that the women couldn’t appreciate it at all!
Anyway, Khalifa was driving happily until another car appeared out of nowhere and it was so close that she was about to hit it.
But just before she hit the car, it abruptly reversed and pressed its horns to catch her attention.
She blinked curiously, opening her window, and watched as the man in the armored van aligned his window to hers, probably to curse at her and road rage
He opened the window slightly, shooting the zombies that squeezed between the two cars, before fully opening his window.
Khalifa was a little surprised.
It was a very handsome blonde with tanned skin. He had chiseled features and sharp eyebrows. His body also had the perfect V-shape visible through his fitted white polo shirt. Very seductive.
He was frowning deeply, definitely about to tell her off.
"Sorry." She said with a plain voice, but—to everyone’s surprise—the man’s annoyed expression immediately morphed to a bright one filled with affection.
"It’s you!"
