Chapter 69: Dark Mood
Chapter 69: Dark Mood
Later that night, the two sneaked out of the school separately, set up to meet at a convenience store nearby.
She had lost her hair tie in the exercise so she had to make do with her hair down.
She didn’t worry too much. How many avid sharp-eyed fans of Kaize would she encounter at this place and time? And it had been so long, they probably forgot all about her.
However, what she didn’t expect to see upon her arrival was a wild-ex bothering the professor.
He had obviously been here quite a bit of time, and now he was in front of the pretty woman making a scene.
She was obviously trying to make herself wronged again.
Cauis impatiently massaged his temple,"Like I said, Aubrey, I do not like you. I only dated you out of responsibility.
"A responsibility, mind you, that you shoved down my throat yourself."
The woman looked around with teary eyes, as if asking for help, and Cauis immediately cut her off.
"There’s a camera. If you dare frame me again, I can sue you for libel." He said, "At the very least, my profession is still a respected one and libel bears heavier weight than others."
This made her pause and sent him a soft glare. But she heaved a breath. "I… I was going to ask you if you want to try again. I broke up with that bastard already! Don’t be mad. You misunderstood…
"I love you." She said, "Is it illegal to fall in love?"
"If it takes away the rights of another, it is." He said, "Move on, Aubrey. Let’s not see each other again."
He said and sighed. When he turned his dark expression lightened up and he couldn’t help but smile.
Aubrey saw it all.
Caius had never smiled like that with her even when they were still civilized and were friends.
She looked at the bespectacled woman with maliciousness.
Even if her glasses were reflective and covered half her face, Amelia’s eyes could see she was a beautiful woman.
When Khalifa approached and held her man’s arm, which in turn caused Cauis’ expression to soften even further, Aubrey completely lost it.
"Is this her?! The reason you broke up with me?" She yelled, losing the impression of poise she had been trying to keep. "Slut!"
Khalifa rudely picked her ears, as if it was hurt by her shriek. "Last time I heard, you and the professor broke up a year ago. And didn’t you have a boyfriend?"
"That…" Aubrey’s eyes turned red, crying. "I love him more than anything! I deserve him!"
Caius sighed and looked at the girl. They used to be friends, once upon a time, but now all he had for her was disgust.
However, he was never good with arguments like this. Fortunately, Khalifa was there to help him out.
"Getting a man drunk and forcing him isn’t enough, you’re still attaching yourself like a leech."
She grabbed his hand and dragged him away.
As she did so she looked at him with a cute admonishing expression. "When dogs bark, you don’t bark back."
He laughed.
"Slut!" Aubrey yelled, no longer caring at the scene she was making. Khalifa on the other hand, noticed someone was filming. She made sure her angle was safe, and she gestured for Cauis to really leave.
Unexpectedly, as they walked away, the woman screamed again.
"I know you!" She screeched, gathering the attention of everyone around. "No wonder you looked familiar.
At first, instead of speaking, she just looked mockingly at Cauis, looking at him like he’s the biggest idiot in the world. "You dumped me to be a spare tire!"
Aubrey pointed rudely at her direction, standing up and trying to get to them. The couple frowned and were ready to defend themselves at any time.
"You’re that girl with Kaiz—ah!"
She slipped on a mysterious puddle on the ground, her whole body weight falling loudly. "Ahhh!" She yelled, in pain. She looked around to see no one was helping and sobbed.
But she realized she accidentally sprained a leg.
Khalifa’s eyebrows rose. Was that always there?
Regardless, it helped her out, and Khalifa chuckled and cutely inserted her fingers between his.
With a smile, she pulled him out the shop, not noticing how wrong his mood was until much, much, later.

As per the professor’s request, they went straight to her house after dinner, which happened to be closer to the school as well.
They were pretty much living there together, anyway.
She guided him to sit on her plush sofa as she got him tea to warm him up from the cold outside.
She was acting like a little wife welcoming her husband home, and the sight did make Cauis feel a bit better.
She arrived with tea and snacks, sitting right beside him. When she was chewing the biscuits, she noticed he wasn’t eating.
She picked up a flavor she knew he liked and placed it in front of his lips. He only opened his lips up and his tongue grazed her fingers, heating it up.
"How would you like to spend your birthday, professor?" She asked him, coquettishly holding his arm.
He put down his tea and smiled at her. "What do you think I want?"
"Me, of course." She giggled, "But you already have me, don’t you have anything you want me to do?"
She leaned closer to him, rubbing her mounds against his arm.
Unexpectedly, Cauis’ eyes darkened at this, making her flinch.
He saw a kiss mark he didn’t make.
It was too dark at the school so he didn’t notice it before. Calculating the timeline, it must have been the athlete who made it.
And there was also that star, Kaize.
"Mine?" He asked, almost self-deprecating. "Really?"
Khalifa paused when she noticed his mood. Her heart broke a little at his expression. After all, she was particularly soft on the professor, someone kind and gentle, someone she empathized with, and also the person who took her current body’s virginity.
She quickly wrapped her arms around his strong chest.
"Tonight I am yours," She told him with certainty, her beautiful eyes looking at him as if she’s looking straight to his soul. "All yours."
His eyes softened as he looked at her.
This was all he needed to hear.
