Chapter 1198: Omen of war
Chapter 1198: Omen of war
[Eon's POV: ]
[{ "He didn't tell us much, hmph! He doesn't trust us yet, is that it?" }]
[{ "You know that's not the case, Rein. He cannot tell us things about the higher realms. Those things are restricted, I mean, I think he told us enough of what he could." }]
The fact that he told us about all those things, about how he chased down the evil forces that had attacked us, and the reason he found behind them seeking the Lifeblood were pretty surprising to both of us.
It was understandable how he was away for so long as well. He had to divide his consciousness to create the clones that we saw yesterday to do all that he needed in that realm as well.
[{ "He had worked hard, Rein. Let him be for now, ok? You know he trusts us, but there are things that he doesn't want us to get involved in.
Besides, we also didn't tell him about the things we did in the forest and about our divine powers. We still have to talk about all that, right?" }]
Since the headmaster was busy for the time being, after the short talk we had, we left the office and came to the class.
We only had one class today so we didn't want to miss it. Besides, missing the first class as soon as we wwe appointed as the council heads did not look good.
[{ "Yes yes! I know he's busy and all, but he still shouldn't just ignore us, right? He should at least ask us for some help or something!" }]
[{ "I mean, what can we do for him in this situation? You tell me, Rein. Do you know anything about the place that he had been to or the kind of threats that we are talking about here?" }]
The Beings that we are talking about don't possess partial divinity or powers that have divine access. They are the divinities with powers and knowledge beyond our comprehension.
[{ "Didn't he say he would discuss the matters with the [Masters] and tell us what they decided? He's the headmaster and he knows his duties. Under normal circumstances, he should not even be telling us this confidential information to us.
But he still told us so much. Do you think it's because he doesn't Trust us?" }]
The class was going on and here we were, talking about things that we didn't even know much about.
Still, it was worrisome in the first place. Not just the fact that there were beings out there who wanted to start a war with the other major divinities, but also how there were conflicts between the leading powers which could create cracks between the existing balance and cause trouble for us mortals.
It wasn't a matter that we as mortals could interfere with even with all the powers and skills and the partial divinities that we have. It's ultimately an issue that those who do possess the power and authority to do something about this should look after.
[{ "What we can do right now is simply stay still and not bother the headmaster for the time being. He is smart and skillful enough to solve the matter in his own way.
He will ask for help when he needs to. And now that we are presidents of the student council, he will be asking us for help.
The relationship that the student council president and the headmaster is much more profound than the relationship that he has with the other council members.
Asking for help was not the same as giving us some missions that we had to follow, or something like that. It was more like working together to solve something.
It wasn't just a contractual relationship but a partnership where both parties trusted each other. It was more cohesive and in our case, it should be more than what it used to be.
"We know how Mana works by now, so I believe everyone here understands the basic nature and applications of Mana. Adding on to that we will learn how the energies around us…"
Sir Jaz was teaching about his subject already while the two of us were chatting at the back.
'Earlier, he also congratulated us and told us he will be looking forward to our good work, telling us to inform him beforehand about their absence from the classes due to work.'
And there were going to be some absences. Even though we did not want to, there will be times when we have to focus on the work that we are doing instead of the classes that we have to attend.
There will be times when we have to prioritise some of our tasks and go out of the island just to finish some work. Things related to academics will become a little difficult from now on, but this position requires us to handle at least that much.
Thankfully, studies have never been that big of a concern for us. And with Celes and Rayray, we did not have to worry about the content that we would be missing during our absence either.
"We take Mana and apply formulations to them in order to mold them into various shapes…"
The things that he was teaching right now were pretty much a recap of what we have learned along with some things that we are going to learn.
His special creation magic had always been a fun thing to watch, but along with it there have also been many other things, his teaching method included that made the classes fun.
He was also not the only one that was a fun teacher to us. The things that we learn in the common classes are always fun in various manners.
'It's not just our personal enthusiasm that we take note of the classes. There are various things that we learn from the content that we already know when these qualified teachers teach us.'
They have lived unique lives so the things that they teach are always unique. If I have to say so myself, there have been things that one cannot learn without life experiences.
And these teachers who have lived for far longer than we have, even those who aren't as old as us, end up teaching us new perspectives of the things that we believe to have known… and that is why, I believe, they are important for our academic lives.
[{ "Anyway… isn't this still concerning though? The omen of war, as he puts it… won't it affect our world as well?" }]
If a war breaks out between the divinities, as I have read in some of the rare records left in the master's unique notes in the tower library, then the aftermath will be seen by all the connected realms.
Since the battle of a higher realm will affect the connected realms as well, the energies that are used and the energies that ultimately get scattered around the world will cause the other realms to be affected in various manners.
'Perhaps the spirit realm will face a unique kind of corruption, perhaps there will be an apocalypse on our world, or perhaps the entire planetary system of ours will be destroyed.'
The universe itself might be at risk of getting affected. And if that happens and the equilibrium of the world is hindered, there will be unavoidable consequences.
Still, I think there will be even more problems if things escalate and there is no end to the war… the world will then revert back to what it used to be.
And that is something we must not experience.
[{ "It will definitely be a problem, yes. That's why I think we should talk with the headmaster later as well. Also, we should try contacting Wali." }]
The only unique divine being that we know of must also have more information about these happenings than what we do.
There might also be some kind of solution to the problem or some more information that we do not know of…
[{ "I was thinking the same. I think we should use that token we received from her the last time. Also, talking with the headmaster right now might be useless, or so I think. He still seems to have a lot on his mind that he needs to resolve." }]
After the Dark Angel looted Hiraani and we met Wali, we knew that there were unique beings on this planet that were beyond the headmaster.
The fact that the evil puppets also did not see the headmaster as much indicated how despite being an absolute being on the earth, he was no great threat to those divinities proving his lower position within the world.
Still, thinking about it, there are things that make him different from the other Transcendent beings, his authorities and the powers granted to him by nature being a force that might not be conventional like divinity, but might just be as threatening to those higher beings.
[{ "There are also matters regarding the cultists and now the other things…" }]
We have just come back from the forbidden forest recently and now we are the student council presidents.
There are many matters that we have to look after. From now on, our work will only increase.
And, if the matters regarding the divine war get anywhere, the headmaster will have to be absent for a long time again.
So, in his absence, we will also have to look after the matters regarding this world and the balance of this world so that he doesn't have to face as much work as he does right now.
'It's not going to be easy in the slightest.'
Hopefully, with the two of us and all the support that we have, things will not be as complicated as they are right now.
It should all work out for the time being as well…
