Chapter 1030 Who?

Chapter 1030 Who?

Chapter 1030  Who?

There was a flicker in Sylas' eyes, and he wondered how he should proceed. Now, the frustration in his eyes was very different from what he had been experiencing before.

The Golden Grove had been incapable of pulling on his Will hard enough to truly affect him, not when he had Forged Will. That level was probably higher than even Megean and Zayeus. It was hard to fathom how someone as young as Sylas could have a Will at this level to begin with.

But even compared to those with Forging Will… Sylas was on another level. That was because he had Demonic Will as well. The combination of the two made his Will closer to a level beyond his current one than it was comparable to those at the same level.

It could be said that in this case, Sylas was over-leveled in more ways than one, which was why he had to hold back in the first place. It wasn't just a matter of feeling like he would be forced into a marriage he didn't want again, but also that he didn't want the old man or anyone for that matter to know just how much he could do with the UniForge…

Not just yet.

But this opportunity here… it left Sylas itching at something in his heart.

'The Golden Grove is interesting… it seems… I'll have to press the gas pedal just a little bit, then.'

Sylas took a breath and then exhaled. He bent down into a squat and then rolled up to the balls of his feet. With a push, his calves exploded with power, and his thighs practically bulged out of their pants as he leapt high into the air.

[Madness Control] turned the simple movement into an engine revving in his body. His blood flow hit its peak, and in an instant, he went from cold to steaming, his body limber and pulsing with might.

BANG!

Sylas shot off, his body streaking across the golden road so fast that he practically looked as though he wasn't touching the ground at all. His hair flowed behind him, streaks of lightning pulling at his mind.

It was then Sylas got a little glimpse of what his new [Madness Control] could do. He wasn't just embodying a perfect understanding of his body, but something deeper…

His affinities themselves were beginning to guide the fluidity of his movement.

He didn't need something like [Cryobane Elevation] to poison his body into being stronger anymore because it was happening naturally. His muscles twitched faster and reacted with greater sharpness as though embodying Lightning. His blood was running hot, yet he didn't feel anywhere near close to overheating, as though embodying Ice. His heart pumped faster and faster as though its control valves had been turned entirely off, as though embodying Poison.

One stride after another pulled him forward, and in that moment, he seemed to truly be flying, his steps only becoming quicker and quicker.

BANG!

Sylas felt a great amount of air resistance until he suddenly ripped right through it, accelerating further.

In the outside world, everyone had just been watching Sylas stand there for minutes on end. Everyone thought that it was over, and though Zayeus hadn't said anything more, his presence alone was enough to signify his stance.

There wasn't a need for him to speak again; that would just be a waste of his time.

Megean's own thoughts were beginning to waver as well. Maybe she had been overthinking things? Had he really just run into the end of his rope and had nothing more left to give?

But then the BANG echoed in all of their ears at the same time.

One moment, Sylas had just been standing there, and in the next, he shot out like a bullet from a cannon.

"No!" Megean's eyes opened wide.

It was too fast. Way too fast.

At that pace, Sylas would burn through his Will in just a few steps—.

He didn't.

It was all happening so fast that most didn't even have the time to be shocked in the first place. The gasps were still hanging in the air from Sylas' first initial acceleration.

Was he moving faster than any of them had ever seen? No. Not even close.

But that also wasn't the point.

At the pace Sylas was going, he would break the F-Grade Record by such a substantial margin that it would look like some sort of rounding error lost in translation. At that pace, he shouldn't have been able to cover more than a hundred meters, but he had already covered over two kilometers…

And he was still accelerating.

Zayeus' expression slowly grew more serious, his back standing a little straighter.

The first Rune was coming up…

The world blurred into lines of gold around Sylas, but he saw the Rune from a long ways ahead. The crowd on the outside had a far wider scope than he did, but they could only anticipate it. He, however, could feel it.

There was a flicker in Sylas' eyes.

The Rune rearranged itself from over a kilometer away.

Sylas passed through it as though it wasn't even acting as a barrier there.

His foot landed on the ground, a ripple passing up his heel, through his calves, and up his quads and hamstrings. The pulse of power would have been enough to shatter the foundation of a home back on Earth, but all that strength and quick twitch suddenness exploded into a forward stride.

Sylas lengthened out his other foot before him, gliding through the air with a gracefulness lost to his speed.

His second foot landed on the ground, his eyes flashing with a focused intent and his thoughts on just one thing…

Faster.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

One after another, the Runes fell in a cascade of sparkling lights, and then reformed behind Sylas with a seamless ease to it.

Fluid, smooth, confident, and dauntless. One perfect chime after another filled the air.

Megean stood there in silence, watching this scene as though she couldn't believe what she was seeing at all.

Who was this man?
