Chapter 134 : Construction of the Spirit Train - Part 3
Chapter 134 : Construction of the Spirit Train - Part 3
Inside the massive hall, everyone held their breath, waiting in anticipation filled with curiosity.
Various rational questions popped up in their minds. Most wondered if this was impossible to move.
They couldn't fathom how a carriage could move without an animal to pull it. All these questions were racing through their minds, but they chose to remain quiet, fixing their gaze on Su Yen, playing the card of 'wait and see.'
As for Su Yen, he sat in the control seat and sent his consciousness into the control formation.
Right in front of him, the formation array lit up, showing him the controls. With determination, he switched on the Spirit Train.
Suddenly, the dormant steel came to life. It began to vibrate, and in the control room, a series of multicolored lights flashed on the dashboard.
Seeing all this, skepticism among the crowd was quickly replaced by a sense of wonder and curiosity.
Perhaps... perhaps...
No one knew what to think at this moment. The multiple blinking lights had grabbed their full attention.
Elder Jie exchanged subtle glances with the other elders and saw hope on their faces. If this Spirit Train worked as their sect master envisioned, it would change the course of history in the barren land.
And then, suddenly, a slight vibration emanated from the Spirit Train, and it began to move.
"What!"
"It moves!"
"Oh my..."
Various gasps escaped from the crowd, their eyes almost popping out from their sockets. They swallowed the lumps in their throats, not daring to blink, afraid to miss this historical moment.
As for Su Yen concentrated on the Spirit Train controls and increased the speed.
Slowly, the train gained speed, and before the crowd could fathom what was going on, the Spirit Train zoomed off into the distance in a blink, leaving the crowd stupefied and in awe of the incredible feat they had just witnessed.
For a couple of seconds, no one uttered a word. It was not that they didn't want to speak, but no one knew what to say. They were speechless.
The impossible had happened.
Their sect master had done it once again.
While the crowd was still trying to comprehend the birth of the Spirit Train, they saw the Spirit Train returning with blinding speed.
Subconsciously, the crowd took a few steps back. However, they realized the Spirit Train was more stable and controllable than a carriage.
As the Spirit Train came to a stop a few meters from their location, Su Yen emerged from it and gazed at the dumbfounded crowd. Suddenly, a solitary clap came from an individual. Quickly, the massive crowd began to clap with all their might, their faces beaming with joy.
Su Yen basked in the applause of the people, wearing a light smile on his face. He wasn't the kind of person who wouldn't show appreciation when he was praised like this.
After a few moments, he raised his hand to silence the crowd. "You've seen it. I won't make claims about something that is impossible," he began, his voice filled with confidence.
"What you've just witnessed is the basic frame of the Spirit Train. Now, we're going to start building the real Spirit Train once we've confirmed that the Spirit Train can move."
"Let's get to work. I want everyone to help in building the Spirit Train."
With the confirmation, everyone's morale was high. The various leaders in each department were pushing their people to work harder.
But all this wasn't of concern to Su Yen as he departed for the ancestral ground.
"For the Spirit Train to be more functional, it needs a communication channel," he muttered as he sat in front of the floating pagoda.
"I also need to finish the banking system."
Quickly, he began to program the Spirit Train communication channel as he also prepared to finish the banking system.
Time went by, and it was a week after the initial testing of the Spirit Train.
Su Yen and his students trained a group of people who would be the train drivers.
Each Spirit Train was divided into two sections: Economy class and VIP class.
Even though the Spirit Train would only function inside the city, he decided to add classes to it.
However, compared to the intercity Spirit Train luxury, it was a bit lower.
Each Spirit Train would have two drivers, while there would be five police and three hostesses.
With Cloudweaver undergoing earthshaking changes, other cities had received intel about it.
Huang Yin had received news about the Spirit Train invention and was already eager to explore this new mode of transportation. She was also preparing her city for the arrival of this new invention.
Another thing spreading quickly was the Pagoda Church. Now, they had churches in other cities, and they were spreading like wildfire.
Huang Yin worked with the sect branch hall in Jade City, and they began the construction of the train track.
Not to be outdone, the Western Land, Willow City, also got involved with the sect branch hall and began the construction of the train station and track.
The newly appointed city head of Willow City was from the Song Clan, a mid-sized clan promoted by the Celestial Heavenly Sect.
As for the Northern Barren City, Orchid City, the prominent leading merchant clan was chosen as the city head, the Gao Clan.
With the Eastern part taking the lead, followed by the Southern part, the two other parts didn't dare to fall behind. It was like a competition, pushing the pace of Spirit Train development to a high degree.
Inside the sect's main hall, Su Yen sat in the main seat and looked at the elders, asking, "How is the preparation?" as he turned to Elder Hua.
"The bank is ready for operation," Elder Hua responded with a beaming smile.
"Good. Release the announcement today, and the banks should start working by tomorrow," Su Yen was pleased.
Without the banking system, the payment for the Spirit Train would be a hassle. He turned his head and looked at Elder Jie.
"We're all good to go. As for the intercity, it needs a week."
"That's alright," Su Yen responded. "Release the news. I'll open the Spirit Train to the public in three days."
