Chapter 269 Hope.
Chapter 269 Hope.
Helen felt her body start to feel weak and how the darkness suffocated her. There was nothing around her, the only light that existed in the whole universe was her own body. The fact that her radiance could no longer light up the universe made her feel like she was floating in a small tight space.
She released a blast, but that was when she realized the light got absorbed immediately. She also saw the darkness in front of her, the darkness that had been staring at her with its fear-inducing stare. A being that used to be a human being had become the darkness that covered the universe.
"You let yourself be consumed by your own power. Do you know the consequences of your actions? The people that follow you?" Helen asked as she stared into the abyss with eyes.
Helen felt loneliness for a split second and thought she missed hearing voices or even noises. It was silence that could drive any being to their demise as they would kill themselves immediately. It made her uneasy, anxious, and fearful the moment she understood how powerful Mykel's power truly was.
When she tried to attack the abyss, something pierced through her body. Something painful and cold that she didn't know what it was until she looked down on her body. Spikes pierced her that came from the darkness around her, they were so fast that even she couldn't react.
The spikes corrupted her body, creating thousands of branches of thorns within each spike. She felt an immense amount of pain that she started screaming as her body was slowly losing its light. She didn't want to give in and decided to cut the thorns, preventing the darkness from corrupting her even more.
"You have... to come back..." Helen groaned as she tried to fight the corruption inside her body. "It's for your own good, Mykel. Don't waste the precious things you have created over that power,"
The abyss and the silence suddenly disappeared and how Helen's senses could feel the vast universe again. She was surprised and slowly lifted her head to see what was in front of her. A figure of a man floated in front of her, showing his authority over the world that he had conquered.
"Speak to me..." Helen's voice sounded like she was begging.
The figure ignored her once again, and this time the figure reached out its right hand. A sword made of its own body appeared right in its hand.
Helen managed to stop the corruption and recovered the light that she had lost. Although she could see Mykel was challenging her to a fight and knew she wouldn't be able to win, she was glad that it happened. As long as Mykel didn't use his power, it could stop him from getting worse.
"Come back to your senses... listen to my words..." Helen said as she created a sword from the light. "Hear my struggle..." Helen held the sword tightly and did the first strike.
Helen, the Lord of Light, and Mykel, the Lord of Darkness, faced each other in a battle that would determine the fate of existence itself.
Helen wielded a magnificent sword crafted from the purest light of creation. It radiated with an ethereal glow, casting a brilliant aura that pushed back the suffocating darkness. Her determination was resolute as she advanced, her sword gleaming with divine purpose.
Mykel, on the other hand, brandished a sinister blade forged from the very abyss that devoured all it touched. His sword seemed to absorb the very essence of light, creating an impenetrable shroud of darkness around him.
As their swords clashed, a shockwave of energy rippled through the cosmos. Sparks of light erupted upon contact with the abyssal sword, but Mykel's darkness proved relentless. He pressed forward, his malevolent power threatening to eclipse Helen's radiant glow.
Helen fought valiantly, her sword dancing through the void, attempting to cut through the impenetrable darkness that Mykel wielded. But with each clash, she felt the draining of her own light. The darkness corroded her sword, sapping its brilliance and turning it into a dim ember.
Desperation filled Helen's heart as she realized the overwhelming might of Mykel's abyssal weapon. Her once-glorious sword of creation had been reduced to a feeble glow, and her strength waned.
In a final, devastating blow, Mykel's sword of darkness shattered what remained of Helen's weapon. The Lord of Light, now defenseless, found herself consumed by the unrelenting abyss. Her radiant form dimmed as she was enveloped in the shadows, her light snuffed out.
Mykel stood triumphant, his darkness victorious. He gazed upon the remnants of the once-glorious cosmos, now shrouded in his malevolent influence. The battle between light and darkness had been tilted in favor of the latter, leaving the universe in a state of uncertainty and despair.
He raised his sword and stabbed it right into Helen's chest who had no more strength to prove her existence. The light dimmed as the darkness crawled onto her skin and her eyes stared into the cold abyss.
"You have proved yourself, Mykel, but your insatiable hunger for destruction will only make you suffer..." Helen said as the darkness crawled up to her neck. "Your action has determined the future. The thing that awaits you is nothing but another darkness that will crawl on your neck, the loneliness," Helen continued.
Helen was ready to accept her death, but then a crack opened right above her head. A gentle and warm light made of dust of gold came out of the crack, making Mykel stop pushing his sword deeper into Helen's body.
Elena came out and she looked at the abyss in front of her with a worried expression. She could no longer recognize the man that she loved and how he stared at her like a stranger. But she didn't mind it at all, and she looked down at Helen who was about to disappear.
Elena reached out her hand on the sword, holding the handle from Mykel's cold hand. She pushed down the sword as she looked at Helen with a cold expression.
"Hope..." Helen smiled and then she disappeared, devoured by the abyss.
The crack closed, preventing Mykel from going to that world as he was hungry for destruction. But because Elena was there, he only focused on her and stared at her, thinking about what he would do to her.
"It hurts, to see you look at me with that kind of look," Elena said as she kept looking at the sword. "Have you forgotten about me?" Elena asked and looked into the abyss that was right in front of her face.
Mykel didn't say anything, but he slowly devoured Elena's hand and grabbed her by the neck. When he was about to crush her neck, his hand couldn't put strength on his fingers.
"Looks like you're still there somewhere," Elena smiled and then released her life energy and pushed Mykel away from her. "I'll beat out the life of you," Elena readied her stance and clenched her fists as she stared into the soul of the abyss.
Mykel and Elena, father and daughter, engaged in a brawl of unparalleled magnitude. Both possessed the omnipotent ability to reduce anything into nothingness, but their manifestations of this power differed profoundly.
Mykel shrouded in an abyssal darkness that appeared as an all-consuming void, wielded his power with an air of malevolence. His every movement sent ripples through the fabric of reality, causing stars to blink out and galaxies to fade into oblivion.
Elena, his daughter, was enveloped in a golden dust that seemed to be spun from the very essence of life itself. Her power, though equally capable of reducing all to nothingness, appeared as a gentle, life-affirming aura, a stark contrast to Mykel's foreboding presence.
As they clashed, the universe trembled under the weight of their titanic battle. Mykel unleashed torrents of his abyssal darkness, seeking to devour all in its path. Elena countered with waves of her golden life energy, an attempt to restore what had been lost to the abyss.
Elena's power could do more than turn anything into nothingness, but it had become something far beyond that. The [Nihility] that she thought to be the most powerful skill got upgraded, and it was called [Renewal].
The Lord possessed the power of [Supremacy] that could be used to create anything from nothing. Mykel possessed the power of [Abyssal] that could destroy everything within his reach and left nothing but nothingness. Lastly, Elena possessed the power of [Renewal] that could transform nothingness and create something more powerful than nothingness itself.
The skill that she acquired wasn't from The Lord's help, but the power that she gained through the truth. The power she gained herself after she declined The Lord's offer as she took Mykel's words and carved them in her heart.
"No matter what happens, never rely on others," Elena said as she could match Mykel's power. "I'll bring you back no matter what," Elena clenched her fists and started throwing punches at Mykel.
